The Trump campaign on Sunday said former President Donald Trump is “safe following gunshots in his vicinity.”

“President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time,” Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said in a statement that did not provide additional details.

The former president was playing golf at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach. The course was immediately locked down, according to a source familiar.

The Secret Service said on X that it is working with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to investigate a protective incident involving Trump. The Secret Service said the incident occurred shortly before 2 p.m.

Trump taken to safety after Secret Service opens fire on man with possible gun at his Palm Beach golf club​


Donald Trump was taken to safety by the Secret Service after agents opened fire on a man who was spotted with what may have been a gun while the former president was on the links, according to law enforcement sources.

Sources said the Secret Service spotted a suspicious individual on the Trump International Golf Course West Palm Beach, and opened fire when agents saw what appeared to be the barrel of a gun.

It’s not clear whether the man was on the course or near it.

An agent opened fire, shooting multiple times.

“President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time,” Trump spokesman Steven Cheung said Sunday afternoon.

The man was later arrested by local police on I-95.

It comes almost exactly two months after Thomas Matthew Crooks shot Trump at a rally in Butler, Pa. on July 13 — wounding him in the ear.

Sen. Lindsey Graham took to X minutes after news of the shooting broke to laud the former president for his fortitude.

“Just spoke with President Trump. He is one of the strongest people I’ve ever known. He’s in good spirits and he is more resolved than ever to save our country.”

The West Palm Beach course is about five miles inland from Mar-a-Lago, which Trump dubbed the “Winter White House.”

The Secret Service — which came under widespread criticism following the July assassination attempt — wrote on X that it was investigating a “protective incident” involving the former president that occurred shortly before 2 p.m.

The agency said it’s coordinating with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office on the investigation.

Initial reports suggested two people were firing at each other. However, sources said investigators now believe the Secret Service agent was the only shooter.

The man’s motives are not yet known. He was arrested by Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputies.

The White House issued a statement soon after the incident: “The President and Vice President have been briefed about the security incident at the Trump International Golf Course, where former President Trump was golfing. They are relieved to know that he is safe. They will be kept regularly updated by their team.”

This is a developing story.

This whole situation is spooking me, especially with the knowledge that 1) the media and libs have radicalized so many people into believing that Trump should die and 2) it's not just civilians but people on the inside in our government that have the means to do it. I don't think I've ever been so disappointed in my country before.

Counterpoint: They don't have to be in on shit if the information given to the shooter isn't detailed or viable enough to create a plan for. ie. "Trump is at X-place at Y-time. Make your move here" as opposed to "Trump will be playing golf exactly at Time'o'clock on A-wing of Building-b, there will be 10 people in attendance etc." the information given wouldn't even have to be notable, the idea is you cast enough obvious bait for someone stupid enough to take it and act on it.

theres alot of shit in recent times to be much more than disappointed about, one issue off the top of my head that isnt gonna start an argument by me mentioning it is mass surveillance and the patriot act

If 'they' were so terrified President Trump would win before 13 July, they became even more terrified after 13 July. Now it looks like 'they' have failed again. Would love to be a fly on the wall in that interrogation room right now.

But believe I am missing something here. 'They' obviously don't want Kamala as President. If 'they' did Joe would have departed the Oval Office when he gave up the re-election effort, making Kamala President and giving her campaign a real shot in the arm.

'They' believe they can handle the devil they know. Once re-elected, President Trump cannot run again and he's off the radar screens, pretty much. 'They' seem scared shitless what they might get from eight years of Kamala. Suggest if she loses in 24 she's off the radar screens, too.

So what would 'they' get from assassinating President Trump now? My guess is this would result in a huge GOP win, just like it went for the Dems in 64 after the assassination of President Kennedy. Remember all that stuff well. My wild guess is you'd see a Vance-Gabbard ticket, Vance for sure. The Surf Mommy is busting her ass for President Trump and frankly deserves the shot.
