Trump taken to safety after Secret Service opens fire on man with possible gun at his Palm Beach golf club

Donald Trump was taken to safety by the Secret Service after agents opened fire on a man who was spotted with what may have been a gun while the former president was on the links, according to law enforcement sources.

Sources said the Secret Service spotted a suspicious individual on the Trump International Golf Course West Palm Beach, and opened fire when agents saw what appeared to be the barrel of a gun.

It’s not clear whether the man was on the course or near it.

An agent opened fire, shooting multiple times.

“President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time,” Trump spokesman Steven Cheung said Sunday afternoon.

The man was later arrested by local police on I-95.

It comes almost exactly two months after Thomas Matthew Crooks shot Trump at a rally in Butler, Pa. on July 13 — wounding him in the ear.

Sen. Lindsey Graham took to X minutes after news of the shooting broke to laud the former president for his fortitude.

“Just spoke with President Trump. He is one of the strongest people I’ve ever known. He’s in good spirits and he is more resolved than ever to save our country.”

The West Palm Beach course is about five miles inland from Mar-a-Lago, which Trump dubbed the “Winter White House.”

The Secret Service — which came under widespread criticism following the July assassination attempt — wrote on X that it was investigating a “protective incident” involving the former president that occurred shortly before 2 p.m.

The agency said it’s coordinating with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office on the investigation.

Initial reports suggested two people were firing at each other. However, sources said investigators now believe the Secret Service agent was the only shooter.

The man’s motives are not yet known. He was arrested by Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputies.

The White House issued a statement soon after the incident: “The President and Vice President have been briefed about the security incident at the Trump International Golf Course, where former President Trump was golfing. They are relieved to know that he is safe. They will be kept regularly updated by their team.”

This is a developing story.

I know everyone's making fun of the ceramic tiles, but I've seen tests and they do work. Especially if you've got a polycarbonate sheet behind the tiles and then Kevlar behind that.

If he put them in bags, they could be 5+ tiles thick, probably good enough unless the Secret Service had their big counter sniper rifles out, and I'm not sure they did.

It sounds like the Secret Service were even lousier shots this time.
I take it back. If it's a single member of the security detail firing at a would-be assassin hiding behind foliage with only a barrel to go off of, and bags hung up to further obscure, I can see how there may have been misses from such a distance. Then again, I don't know much about SS sharpshooters and it could be a tremendous failure of marksmanship.

Nick Fuentes comes with baggage. Nobody likes him besides the weirdest, gayest, most pornsick zoomers. If Nick the Spick “I like girlDick” Fuentes doesn’t like somebody, credit to that person.
I mean your not wrong but my post wasn't about liking Nick Fuentes, he is a big deal among the demographic of people that Trump needs to win.

I have never seen someone with so many tickets, infractions and criminal charges. There are certainly people with more heinous crimes but he wins for sheer number.

Speeding, no insurance, no registration, no license, failed to stop and every other traffic infraction you can imagine, his crimes started in 1983 (or maybe that’s just the first digital record). He also likes to write bad checks. This man is not only for certain on their radar, and the books, of LEO in every place he’s ever lived in or even driven through.

Probably forever since N. Korea now has a solid trading relationship with Russia. Meeting Basketball athletes is neat, I guess, but not enough to jeopardize a massive arms deal.
No. Paradoxically, NK very much would like a better relationship with the USA. Normalization of relations would bring many real benefits to NK. For example, normalizing relations tells Kim the US isn't likely to attack his little kingdom.

I guess this’ll be the one that locks him up for good. He didn’t get away with so many crimes, and then he blew the biggest one of all. What a laughing stock.
