Community Munchausen's by Internet (Malingerers, Munchies, Spoonies, etc) - Feigning Illnesses for Attention

Unfortunately, donating a kidney involves thinking at least briefly about someone else, which appears to be far beyond the mental capacity of most of our munchies.

Your suggestion does remind me of this New York Times story from a couple years ago involving a woman who voluntarily donated a kidney to a stranger and then annoyed everyone she encountered by talked nonstop about how meaningful it was.

and for the cat ladies currently feeling their blood pressure rise
Cat lady here, and I'm stoned. My former stray agrees that just TNR and hope for the best is still condemning the cat to a short hard life. This dumpster fire probably would have died from an infected broken fang, cost well over a grand in vet bills right out the gate, no shelter working on a government budget would pay that, it's lunacy. But if I had said "eh, just TNR" ... dental abscesses kill otherwise healthy humans, a cat already struggling to survive doesn't stand a chance. To TNR her would have been cruel. Did she like transitioning to a catio? No. Did she get over it? Yes. I'm not just sperging about my cat, I'm saying that she's one cat, of fucking millions, for whom TNR would've been as much a death sentence as taking her to a shelter, but worse. Shelters put animals to death as quickly and painlessly as possible, feral cats die from anything from fighting to infection to being hit by a car. I know I'd rather die by lethal injection indoors than a hit and run in a thunderstorm.

I'm in the medical field and how these munchies manage to actually get unnecessary surgeries is beyond me. There are so many tests and hoops to jump through for even medically necessary operations. I can't tell if they're that good at bullshitting, if medical personnel are just that negligent, or if they're down with insurance fraud
Munching into unnecessary treatment is much simpler than many of you think.

In my experience, there are two types in medical professions; those who are sceptical of patients at all times and those who believe everything a patient says. If the latter is also quick to overprescribe medications and invasive treatments their name gets passed around as a "good doctor" and not only by munchies. There's been a surge in self-overmedicalizing in the general population; people want that prescription and they want it NOW. I partially blame pharmaceutical advertising and the popularity of medical dramas but there are multiple factors at play. Dr. Google contributes too.

Anyway, I've rejected unsought treatment, everything from potentially addictive medications to questionable surgeries like toe straightening (I have strange curly toes that cause no pain but look funny; I'm not going to fuck around with my functional feet). I've watched munchies develop in real time, amassing a collection of diagnoses and assorted medical devices in a matter of months and this is in public medicine Canada. I'd imagine it's even easier in the private, doctor shopping market stateside. And I will add something people don't like hearing; this game is simple for cute younger women because we're treated like sweet, innocent princesses in need of saving. Men and older/less attractive/obese/uncharismatic women have a harder time getting into munchieland even when they want to. They can do it, but they have to put in the work for ages first, tend to stall out at IV in the ER stage, and usually resort to buying their mobility aids and faux working pets online as part of the con. Often though, they end up bitching about the evil medical system that abandoned them instead of getting to post adorable selfies of their latest hospital and theme park visits.

I guarantee I could get a doctor to sign off on surgery for me if I complained. Like a lot of these munchies, an early lifetime of sports means I can point to x-rays that look just abnormal enough to make chronic pain a possibility. I know this because I was unhappy in a situation once and used the medical system as an escape. I didn't follow through on surgery because I'm not a munchie but it is that easy. I could get a psych stay tomorrow if I wanted it (I don't) because I have a diagnosis and know what answers will trigger a grippy sock vacay and release date. To munch, you just need to know what to say, who to say it to, and how to say it.

One of my cousins is a munchie. She spends her days in bed while her husband handles all the adulting. Every family get-together revolves around her. She has the munchie trifecta with all the toys and drugs. No expectations to live up to, no requirement to care for her affairs. The tradeoff is she has no social life, no career, no kids but she gets to remain the treasured baby girl of the family forever. For girls who think they peaked in their teens, this is the dream.

Oh, and these munchies get 'rewards' like disability checks for the same reasons they get medical treatment. It's assumed that they must have so much going for them so why would they lie and seek out a painful life of struggle? Even hardened social workers accustomed to dealing with middle-aged workshy grifters are gullible when it comes to the munchie demographic.

You’re on disability? Let me guess, Munchausen’s Syndrome? You’re the dowager queen of munching? This toddler fairy dress and spazimodo headphones and hands I just can’t. She reminds me so much of Bee.

Jesus Christ, I managed to skim through a few years of highlights in this thread, but it's fucking titanic.

My initial takeaway with some of what I saw going back is that Munchies love inserting themselves in anti-munchie conversations.

Seriously, dozens of times ITT people would appear and say "Gee, I sure hate when people fake POTS/Fibro/IBS/Autism because people like Me that actually have it are given a bad rap!

If you feel compelled to post that, there's like a 90+% chance you're a Munchie yourself and it's not fooling anyone here.

These people are terrified of being found out so they insert themselves into the "opposition" to try changing the narrative.

Here's a few things they should consider: Medical professionals know what's going on. Most people in your life know what's going on. The people who support you know what's going on. You're destroying your bodies and overwhelming our already fucked up emergency medicine system for the approval of an echo chamber.

Your weaknesses are not worthy of praise. Go do something with your lives if you haven't destroyed yourselves already.

Anyway, sorry, I'm sure I came out of nowhere with this shit, this thread is just a trip.

And I will add something people don't like hearing; this game is simple for cute younger women because we're treated like sweet, innocent princesses in need of saving. Men and older/less attractive/obese/uncharismatic women have a harder time getting into munchieland even when they want to.
At the same time, I keep hearing people with obvious munchie traits complain that the reason no one agreed to diagnose them is because doctors say “there’s no way you’re sick, you’re so young!”
And this baffles me because in every experience I’ve had, and just common sense in general, the opposite is true. A young fit person complaining of constant pain and fatigue is not normal, a 40 year old woman complaining about the exact same symptoms can be chalked up to aging woes literally every human has at some point. Maybe it really is just how it works in the US but where I’m from, doctors are much more serious and concerned if you’re a young person experiencing “10/10 pain.” Though to be fair, we hardly have a munchie phenomenon here. Even if you have money, treatments and hospital stays aren’t fun vacations with an open bar of opioids.

I've been looking into living kidney donation lately, and I keep wondering why people who want attention from the medical system and friends/family don't just go donate a kidney. You get plenty of doctor visits, blood draws, a surgery plus a couple nights in the hospital, getting babied for recovery/positive attention, and you get to be a bit higher risk/special forever. They'll even pay for travel and lost wages sometimes.
On the other hand they do a psych eval to make sure you're not doing it for the wrong reasons/a nutcase, and once that one month of recovery leave is out, you have to go back to being a normal functioning adult.
Willingly doing medical-related things also shows that you're a healthy, strong person, and that goes totally against the larp of being a poor widdle cripple. Munchies don't donate blood- they screech about how they're so frail and anemic they got turned away and told they're basically dying slowly, even.

I always wondered why munchies don't donate plasma. You have can go twice a week, and it can take hours! And they're constantly thanking you, and you even get money and maybe snacks! And afterwards you might feel weak and can show off your arm band! I know people sometimes associate it solely with super-poor junkie types, but it's also pretty popular among poor college students.

Then finally one of the cluster-B types in my life tried to go donate plasma.... and was permanently deferred due to saying she was having a panic attack as they placed the IV. She used the whole thing as another excuse why her parent simply HAD to send her more pocket money to support her through college.

And it clicked. They might thank you a lot or whatever, but plasma centers tolerate 0 sick role antics- you must sign off a thousand times that you are healthy and feel well enough to not wig out, and if you wig out even once, you're basically always going to be told to never come back ever. If you go to any plasma center, they almost all have a big poster that shows how it takes 7,000 plasma donations to make 1 year of IIVG treatment. Munchies don't want to be one of the 7,000. They want to be that special 1 sick person that got the bodily fluids of 7,000.

Even hardened social workers accustomed to dealing with middle-aged workshy grifters are gullible when it comes to the munchie demographic.
They're so freaking gullible it's not even funny. However, some of it is just the game that social workers play, which typically isn't "how do I get this person to improve their life" and more like "how can I get this person as much benefits as they can physically extract from the taxpayer so that they will get out of my office and my numbers look good." If a munchie comes to you and the only thing they want in life is to get sicker and sicker, it's going to be easier to get them into the medical institution side of things/the world of living on disability etc. then it might be to ever convince them they're well enough to work. A lot of them are also prone to giant tantrums and accusing people of being discriminatory, which most social workers are very afraid of. The social worker almost always isn't the person who is going to argue with a self-diagnosis even if it's outlandish.

There is also a racial component IMO. If a 30yo homeless black man with no job and lumbago and a moderate alcohol addiction comes through, it's "let's get you on ALL the welfare, and get you into a subsidized apartment, and apply for disability." If a 30 homeless WHITE man with lumbago and moderate alcohol addiction comes through, it's "Let's get you sober, let's get you a job so you can afford your own apartment, and why don't you google some back stretches or something?" I'm sure this varies highly and a lot of it is due to what the clients say themselves (i.e. the blacks tell victimizing sob-stories)- but that's just my experience.

r/disability

Archive of Rose's post on r/disability.

There's really nothing of interest in the comments-- lots of ass-kissing (not the pornographic kind-- and one person who says something about Syrians (no idea what that person is on about). Just going to go ahead and archive for future Rose historians, because-- friendly pro tip-- you should never count on anything you see on Reddit (or elsewhere) being available in the future.

It's not even that all doctors believe everything, most of them are not retards and may well be 99% confident that a person is bullshitting (it's usually fairly obvious). It's just usually not worth the potential of killing your career by refusing to provide the minimum standard of care based upon what they report unless you've already done the exhaustive tests involved to rule out whatever they're claiming, which is already a punishable offense, never mind how double fucked you'd be if you did this and it turned out by by cataclysmically unlikely odds that they weren't bullshitting. Unfortunately there are many cases where certain symptoms are completely subjective or unprovable for ethical reasons (persistent 10/10 pain and allergy to everything except oxycodone or hydromorph) or must always be taken seriously to a certain degree (like claiming chest pains to get the ER to pay attention to you) as a couple of examples.

Yeah, any histrionic retard can do this, all that is required is to wear down a doctor through sheer attrition. People who refuse to lift a finger to take care of themselves or follow directions do it all the time, they're not munchies, they're just fucking lazy and complain more if a magic pill or surgery doesn't fix them immediately with no action on their end. A psych admission is even easier, you don't need a bogus psych diagnosis even, fucking 12 year olds figured out even before the internet that performative suicide threats, bogus "overdose" attempts, or scratching themselves is more than sufficient to get attention. With regards to munching, it's only a little more involved than that, but even if objective tests and your own behavior outs you as an unequivocal bullshitter, you still get turfed over to psych because it's a trashbin for people who won't stop demanding medical attention but there is literally no objective medical intervention that will do them a lick of good. It's why munchies view psych admissions as a shitty consolation prize and they learn to try munching for something different.

Knowing what to say and how makes it easier, yes, but all that is really required is persistence, a desire for this kind of attention, and an utter disrespect for your own and medical professionals' time.

Oh, and these munchies get 'rewards' like disability checks for the same reasons they get medical treatment. It's still trivial to complain your way into totally unwarranted medical interventions even in Canada for the reasons both you and I have already mentioned, but grifting a tugboat is actually objectively far more difficult in most of the United States than it is in Canada. Still possible, but far more difficult, and that's mostly because of the Social Security Administration being hardasses, not because American doctors are generally any less willing to fill out the paperwork for basically anything. On the other hand Canadians can get tugboats with zero work requirements for shit like being a tranny or crackhead whether they pretend to engage with any sort of treatment or not, I'm not even making this up. I've never seen a tugboat approved literally for Munchausen's but it wouldn't shock me if it's happened, it is possible to get one for noncompliant BPD patients who constantly want to engage with psych treatment even though it never seems to stop their attention seeking, though, and that's more or less the same thing.

Seeing the "2xl" comment directly after the "muh fibro" felt somehow perfect. Then the excuses at the end. What a lovely little amuse bouche you stumbled across!

Maybe I missed it, but I have searched back - did we ever get an update on Tricia, the one who was brooding her own suite of multi drug resistant fungi in her various lines? I have checked her insta but there’s nothing recent in it
Alive and gross. She posted a Tiktok reel of her changing her colostomy bag a few days ago. She spent her summer on a multi-state road trip and visited Dogfucker Rose so I guess they've managed to stabilize her again.

Sarah-Jean Adolphus, Part 2. In part 1, we learned that Sarah is a not-so-closet alcoholic party girl whose friends are becoming adults without her permission. She bounced around to different cities and jobs, had a few obsessive relationships, squeaky wheeled herself to some surgeries to get the good drugs, and told a bunch of hilariously improbable stories that somehow, against all odds, turned out to be true (her model/kung fu master boyfriend fought off a would-be mugger!) In this part, Sarah-Jean has a big adventure and gets herself in big trouble.

ACHTUNG: If you are sensitive to animal abuse, do yourselves a big favor and skip the section labeled "Caycee". You will not like it. I am talking "found guilty on felony animal abuse charges" bad. There is a text only summary in the spoiler below it.

When we left off Sarah was private on social media. So does the rest of 2012 and much of 2013 pass.

These videos of her dad with his dogs are interesting for one reason: five years later, she tags someone named Caycee Bregel in the comments.
sa-405.pngsa-406.png

She posts many animals.

In October 2016 we finally get this video where she says a year ago she started experiencing new symptoms. It started with memory loss, not remembering if she locked the door or turned the stove off. She then forgot how to drive her stick shift to the point where she took it to the repair shop. She feels like she’s always hydroplaning on the road which she describes as hallucinations. She’s falling asleep while driving. On July 19th, 2016 she started having episodes where she’d go clammy with heart palpitations then would collapse to the ground. This happened four days in a row. On the 4th day someone saw this and called an ambulance, but she sneaked out to her car so she didn’t have to pay. She drove herself to the ER where she was “100% diagnosed” with neurocardiogenic syncope. She went for sleep studies and was diagnosed with narcolepsy. She uses a blood pressure cuff at home and a pulse ox at work. She might have POTS because her heart “jumps up to 30 beats per minute instantly.” That’s kind of normal. She says her RHR is between 30 and 45 and this is only okay if you’re an athlete but she’s not. There's other things that cause bradycardia: medication, electrolyte imbalances, long term alcohol abuse, and starving yourself to name a few. She’s been stressed because people are already starting to say she’s using it as an excuse. She now understands what an invisible illness is and why her sick friends couldn’t party with her all the time. She looks healthy but-

And then the video cuts to her explaining she got sick and passed out but deleted it. It’s stressful to be going through all this and trying medications and their side effects. But the worst part is the healthcare. She’s so young and the healthcare she can access isn’t helping her. She can’t afford $7000 on a private plan. Her Nuvigil (narcolepsy med) alone is $580 for 30 pills and “technically” she needs two per day so it’s over a grand a month. She’s sure she’ll be getting more diagnoses from more doctors soon. She has to go through referrals and that takes a long time. Her neurologist keeps rescheduling her. In November 2015 she lost 7 days of her life and has no idea where she was. All she knows is she didn’t go to work. She’s 32 and has been going through medical problems since her knee started acting up at 16 or 17. She had two partial hysterectomies by 24, LEEP (loop electrical excision procedure, used to remove precancerous and early stage cancerous cells from the cervix). She has really bad OCD and a nerve disease that puts her in excruciating pain seven days out of the month that she’s still trying to get diagnosed even though she previously told us it was trigeminal neuralgia. She ends with a rant about how she is so stressed, it’s so hard to be her. She could be dead before her life even starts. Because gogo dancing model makeup artist who dates kung fu master-actors was not her life having started.
sa-454.png

10 November she posts a gofundme: Invisible disabilities / service dog. Her memory loss/blackouts were initially diagnosed as stress because her mother is sick. In this version her vision started to go blurry, her hearing went out periodically, and she just generally felt like something was very wrong. She fell asleep at red lights. Finally she started fainting and was hospitalized for 4 days. A cardio she saw months later said NCS is lifelong and she’ll have fainting episodes forever. She also tells us her narcolepsy was diagnosed by a pulmonologist. Mmm that doesn't seem like it's the doctor you see for narcolepsy at all. She sees a neuro who says it’s “nobody panic attacks” and “a-typical seizures” aka psychogenic. She’s having up to 30 of these a day. They cause stroke-like symptoms; she slurs, stutters, can’t swallow, has tremors and numbness, her words are scrambled. These episodes increase when she’s in public (lol) so she wants a service dog. Well, she already has one. She picked her up two days ago: a Siberian husky/aussie mix. She ends by whining about how she needs to move home. She’s paying off the debt from buying things when she moved and about to go into even more debt shipping it home. The GFM raised only $111.
sa-458.pngsa-455.png

The next day she totals her car. Stop driving before you kill someone, you retard. In comments she said she had “a episode”. Someone brings up that she said her doctor was going to revoke her driving privileges and she says that happened but she got them restored. Needless to say, even in Florida, no doctor who thought she was REALLY having uncontrollable unpredictable episodes many times a day where she lost consciousness would be like “yeah it’s fine to keep driving, nbd.” She posts the GFM several more times and tags people in the comments but no one cares.
sa-456.pngsa-457.png

She needs someone who can body build the cat for her. In the comments, looks like someone who has since deleted asked why she was driving when she can’t stay awake, forgets how to drive, passes out, has seizures, and loses her vision periodically and her response is “docs never told me not to.” A week ago she said they did but then she got her driving privileges back. LMAO what if her license was suspended for a DUI or something
sa-459.pngsa-460.png

I love you Florida never change.
sa-711.png

She didn't have her insurance or registration. She provided proof a few days later and was clear to drive. Aww that's fun but it could have been more fun. I bet she did tell people doctors said she couldn't drive when she was waiting for it to clear.
sa-712.pngsa-713.png

She celebrates 5 months of being a preachy vegan.

who pets captive dolphins.
sa-464.pngsa-467.png

And makes unphotogenic food.
sa-465.pngsa-466.png

She’s changing her life on December 1. She feels that she spent way too long trying to find herself in her 20s and only really got there a few years ago, and now it’s all being taken from her. Now she hasn’t worked in almost a month and spends all day in her apartment doing nothing because she doesn’t have a car. All her cards are maxed, her credit is destroyed. She’s about to leave but doesn’t know where she’s headed and she’s in and out of doctor appointments all the time. This is rock bottom and she has to do something. And that something is moving to one of the most expensive regions in the continental US and opening an animal sanctuary and farm, buying a loft condo, and making an extra 30k a year. Oh and she wants to jump in with both feet, not doing some internship. Just buy land and put animals on it. How hard could it be? Something something alpaca mass grave.
sa-468.pngsa-469.pngsa-470.png

She spergs a lot about veganism, zeal of the new convert and all.
sa-473.pngsa-474.pngsa-475.pngsa-476.pngsa-477.pngsa-478.pngsa-479.png

Here's our first good look at Freckles the service dog.
sa-480.png

I guess she’s doing better.
sa-481.png

She wants people to donate blankets and warm clothings to the homeless in South-Central Florida.
sa-482.png

her crippling poverty and debt must be over a month after it started because she’s buying dresses and vegan snack subscription boxes. I’m sure she’s being responsible and has paid off a substantial chunk of her debt before indulging in these luxuries.
sa-483.pngsa-484.png

And I’m sure she just chose not to post about all the homeless she gave warm coats and blankets to.
sa-485.png

A real blessing on that bitterly cold 85ºF Christmas day.
sa-486.png

Freckles is now "training"
sa-489.png

Sarah tries to have a conversation with people who have more than one functional brain cell.
sa-487.pngsa-488.pngsa-490.png

She’s made her resolutions and she’s sticking to all of them! She WILL go to Africa to learn about animals. She WILL start an animal rescue. She WILL watch more documentaries and “study/leatn beyond her mind.” She’ll save $10k, refuse to let people enter her home with animal byproduct, change her lifestyle, and gain the 10 lbs she lost by cutting flavor out of her diet.
sa-491.png

On January 1 she makes this post. She wants a fast car, nice house, fancy clothes, a career as a MUA, to dance on stage, to grow a fantastic garden, to veg out, to travel the world, to be that crazy person screaming about animals outside corporate offices, to have an outdoor place of serenity. She’s such a rare breed having many interests instead of just one like us plebs. In the comments people tell her this is normal.

On 10 January she posts a second GFM, this one to start an animal sanctuary. She says in two months she’s moving back to Minnesota and renting or buying a house with land. She needs YOUR help to make her dream come true. She gets $50.
sa-500.pngsa-501.pngsa-502.png

sa-505.pngsa-506.pngsa-507.pngsa-508.pngsa-509.pngsa-510.pngsa-511.pngsa-512.pngsa-513.pngsa-514.pngsa-515.png

Muh spoonz.
sa-516.png

Moving back to Minnesota in one month.
sa-517.pngsa-518.png

She gets a new car. The last thing she bought impulsively and it was too small and then there were mechanical problems.
sa-520.pngsa-521.png

I wonder how many vegans gave her shit for making her dog work.
sa-522.png

“this amazing cause” = fund my vanity project
sa-523.png

Dayln visits and they go out drinking around St. Pete’s
sa-524.pngsa-525.png

Not talking will save the animals.
sa-527.png

She has expanded her dreams to include her own vegan cosmetics line and an animal activist team in Minnesota while making $200k in a year (that’s all she needs to be happy, she swears!) It's interesting how skewed her income expectations got. She told that whole sob story about her health, but when the GFM failed to bail her out of debt she went right back to working full time. But she’s still moving home because now that she’s #veganfortheanimals she has to do this vanity project she cooked up. This will require her to work even harder to book more and better gigs so she can come home from work and put in hours taking care of her animal sanctuary and organizing an activist team.
sa-529.png

On the day she wasn’t going to speak she goes to a sanctuary farm and speaks (about animals, for hours)
sa-528.pngsa-530.png

Nine days left in florida.
sa-531.png

Dad’s birthday gift: pays for her to go skydiving. She gets no engagement on most of her posts and she complains about the fact that she has no one there to jump with her.
sa-532.pngsa-533.png

Possibly because all she does is preach about animals and beg people to adopt livestock as pets. She also tells people they can't be her friend if they consume any animal products and also they have to make sure their friends are all vegan because associating with people who mistreat animals is as bad as doing it yourself. Wait for it...
sa-534.pngsa-540.png

Despite all her health problems she successfully jumps from a plane.
sa-535.pngsa-536.pngsa-537.png

And with that, our temporary Florida Woman moves back to Minnesota.
sa-541.pngsa-542.pngsa-543.png

Let’s talk about Sarah’s family. Her older brother James is a cinematographer iving in LA. In 2016 he went to Africa to film a piece on the black market ivory trade. He visited the Sheldrake Trust in Kenya which runs an elephant orphanage then to shadow park rangers in the Congo. The trip is undoubtedly why she wanted to visit Africa to learn about animals in her new year post.
sa-545.pngsa-546.png

James takes care of their mother, Yolanda, who is in need of a liver transplant. We will later learn she had hepatitis C and developed cirrhosis.
sa-547.pngsa-548.pngsa-549.png

She went for transfer eval with Mayo in March 2016. Yolanda shares a house with James the Elder during this time. James the Younger wonders what it’s like for them.
sa-550.pngsa-551.pngsa-552.pngsa-553.pngsa-554.png

The other siblings, Bianca and Adam, come home to see their mother.
sa-555.pngsa-556.png

So does Sarah.
sa-557.png

The whole family together for the first time in years
sa-558.png

Yolanda moves into James’s house in LA.
sa-559.png

Yolanda is dying. She knows she's at the end.
sa-560.pngsa-561.pngsa-562.pngsa-563.png

And that brings us back to Sarah-Jean, home in Minnesota and seeing new photos of her mother.
sa-544.png

By March 2017, Yolanda’s kidneys are failing.
sa-564.pngsa-565.pngsa-567.png

Sarah-Jean visits but can only stay for two days. Yolanda will be moved to Cedars Sinai soon.
sa-568.pngsa-569.pngsa-570.png

She’s in their Transplant Center on 9 March. They hold their breath.
sa-571.pngsa-572.pngsa-573.pngsa-574.png

Sarah-Jean knows her mother is dying, she can’t stay with her but selfie time!!!! Years later she will explain this is her sister's hat and she saw it in the hospital room and needed to document how good she looked in it. She’s also still posting vegan propaganda.
sa-575.pngsa-576.pngsa-577.pngsa-578.pngsa-587.png

James, Adam, and Bianca stay behind and take care of their mother. Bianca has to leave soon too. Mom is undergoing tons of tests to see what, if anything, can be done for her.
sa-579.pngsa-580.pngsa-581.pngsa-582.png

She’s having hemorrhages that require multiple transfusions. Her platelets are low making treatments risky. But she’s now on the list. She feels hopeful and asks to walk around the unit. James has to leave but he knows that they’ll take care of her.
sa-583.pngsa-584.png

Sarah-Jean misses her mother.
sa-588.png

Mom misses the sun.
sa-585.png

On 22 March, Yolanda is moved to ICU and begins dialysis. Her MELD score is now 39/40. This is used to determine whether you can get a transplant from a deceased donor. At 39, a transplant could happen at any moment. They’re just waiting to hear that a match is found. James resigns at work to be with his mother.
sa-586.png

On 23 March, Sarah’s sick. She drove an hour for work but started vomiting. Her heart rate is 50 and irregular. Someone asks her if she has POTS. She says she thinks so but never was tested.
sa-588.png

She updates about her mother. MELD 40 is the cutoff between “urgently needs transplant” and “death awaits” from what I can tell. She’s at the top of the list and as long as she can hold on she’ll likely get her transplant soon.
sa-589.pngsa-590.png

James sleeps in his car in the hospital parking lot to be with his mom.
sa-591.png

On 28 March they get the phone call they've been holding their breath for. A matching donor has been found. Yolanda is getting a second chance. James hugs her goodbye and as they wheel her in she says she’s ready.
sa-593.pngsa-594.png

Sarah-Jean wants to be there for her mother but can’t.
sa-592.png

It took 14 hours in surgery but she’s doing well. Bianca flies in. Adam and James spend all their time at the hospital. Sarah-Jean stays home and posts pictures of dead animals.
sa-595.png

Mom wakes up delirious, begging her kids for help and screaming at them when they can't. The medical team warned them this would happen but it was still hard for them to handle.
sa-596.pngsa-597.png

On day 4, she wakes up in the morning, smiles, and has no memory of the last three days. On the seventh day they bring her out of ICU. She can see the mountains and the sunshine through her window. She’s doing so well they might discharge her by the end of the week.
sa-598.pngsa-599.pngsa-600.png

On 10 April, she's discharged. Mom spends the long drive talking about how beautiful it all is and how the air smells.
sa-601.png

James is terrified he’ll fail her now, when she’s already made it through the hard part.
sa-602.pngsa-603.pngsa-604.png

Adam helps when he can.
sa-605.png

James reflects on the gift they were given. His mother is getting stronger. But she’s had a setback, an infection from the high-dose immunosuppressants. They knew it was inevitable but it still stings.
sa-606.png

Sarah is sneaking hospital and medical alert bracelets into her business page.
Screenshot 2024-09-15 at 22.12.00.pngScreenshot 2024-09-15 at 22.13.27.png

Her dad’s dog dies. She takes a selfie crying with his corpse.
sa-607.pngsa-608.pngsa-609.pngsa-610.png

Her human friend also dies but no corpse photo this time. What a shame.
sa-611.png

She tries to increase the body count by taking selfies while driving.
sa-612.png

On 11 May, James says that his mother moved to Atlanta to live with Bianca. The recovery was too much on both of them and was hurting their relationship.
sa-613.png

Finally on Mother’s Day she takes a break from selfies and animal suffering to acknowledge that her mom almost died.
sa-614.pngsa-615.png

On 18 May, Sarah posts her first hospital selfie. In the comments we learned she’s spent the last two weeks trying to get admitted and being turned away.
sa-616.pngsa-617.pngsa-618.png

5 June, hospital with Freckles.
sa-620.png

She wants her friends to put flowers on roadkill alanimals because they didn’t get a proper barrel.
sa-622.pngsa-624.pngsa-626.pngsa-627.pngsa-628.png

she’s going to start vegan diets for all her animals. Cats should not be eating plant matter in any great quantity and homemade vegan diets generally lack taurine, an essential amino acid cats need to get from animal protein in their diet. Without it they go blind and their hearts explode.
sa-630.png

defacing menus, buying ducks.
sa-631.pngsa-632.png

why does she make me watch her peepee?
sa-629.pngsa-633.png

Looks expensive.
sa-634.pngsa-635.png

Freckles starts her vegan diet!! I like that Sarah had to speed up the footage of her eating to make it seem like Freckles was enjoying it.
sa-636.png

Sarah celebrates that now she won’t get stuck without a bottle on Sundays. She hasn’t been posting much about drinking to be fair. She’s mostly posting roadkill, abused dogs, and slaughterhouse footage. I miss the alcohol.
sa-637.png

LMAO Freckles is not vegan. Freckles has discovered a nest of bunnies and helped herself. She was just playing, of course. Sarah brings the sole survivor to a wildlife rehabber.
sa-638.pngsa-639.pngsa-640.png

She lets her ducks swim and shit in the bathtub. She built them an outdoor area but they are only allowed in it during the day when she's home
sa-641.pngsa-642.png

The woman who went into debt buying herself shit she didn't need is preaching zero waste minimalism.
sa-643.pngsa-644.png

Freckles kills another rabbit. Beautiful vegan dog.
sa-645.png

Here's Sarah-Jean flying down the highway with one hand flipping off the livestock truck and the other holding her phone to film it
sa-646.png

She starts her zero waste journey by ditching toilet paper. Of all the things.
sa-650.png

She starts posting about a property in Lakeville. Sounds like she’s setting up that sanctuary she wanted.
sa-651.png

Sarah-Jean has been working 60 hours a week doing makeup but she wants to go back to 30 hours a week and get a part time “vegan” job. I didn’t know any job had dietary preferences! She doesn’t want to volunteer for a sanctuary, to go into sales or waitress or do something with makeup. She wants to throw galas to raise money for sick animals. Fundraising and coordinator positions actually require more than just a passion about the subject. Her big complaint is while she’s at her makeup job she has to promote non-vegan brands and it’s literally making her so sick. How do these people survive on planet earth? Also 60 hours a week plus all the shit she does on the side sounds like she’s in excellent health.
sa-652.pngsa-653.pngsa-654.png

She names her sanctuary Happily Ever After Microsanctuary.
sa-655.png

I don't even eat meat and I kind of want to punch her.
sa-656.png

One of her six cats is hurt. Keep it the fuck inside.
sa-657.pngsa-658.png

Sarah-Jean, who has very close personal experience with organ donation, learns that many vegans won’t donate because they’re afraid they'll go to someone they disagree with and feels appropriate anger. Even a blind squirrel etc etc (I feel the same way about the people changing their donor status because trannies get cadaver skin grafts. So do babies who suffered burn accidents.)
sa-660.pngsa-661.png

Food service worker tries to joke with Sarah. OUTRAGE.
sa-662.png

She’s begging her vegan friends for help saying she has these episodes where she can’t breathe, starts to shake and feel weak, can barely walk, and gets ravenously hungry. When she’s home it’s not a problem but she had an episode at her work. She went to the food court and started to panic thinking she might order something non-vegan, so she ran to the bathroom and cried. She mentions she drove to the store, bought a cup of mac and cheese, and ate it without any memory of having done so, totally unrelated to her alcohol consumption I'm sure. She blames this on her many ailments including several that make her forget how to do things and cause loss of consciousness. But she’s still driving, it’s fine. Also is she new here? Fries and a coke, there's your predictable vegan lane.
sa-663.pngsa-664.pngsa-665.pngsa-666.png

She is displacing wildlife with her animal sanctuary.
sa-667.png

She goes live crying. It’s because she visited a slaughterhouse and they were – I know this will shock you – slaughtering animals.
sa-668.png

22 August she’s going back to the ER for unspecified reasons.
sa-670.pngsa-671.png

I cringed so hard I think I regrew my wisdom teeth.
sa-672.png

Sarah has a near-accident when she cuts some guy off on the highway. He goes full road rage, and SJ for some reason gets out of her car to confront him. Freckles releases her anal glands in fear.
sa-673.png

In August we are introduced to her new puppy, Gizmo.
sa-659.png

Those are some pretty steep prices for mystery products she whipped in her Kitchenaid.
sa-674.png

Ziopatch. She says a previous heart monitor picked up problems.
sa-675.pngsa-676.png

12 September, she gets the handi-hanger. Still driving despite 9 conditions that make her lose consciousness and black out so hard she forgets she’s vegan.
sa-677.png

“Support your local farmers!” I didn't know avocados and cashews grow so well in Minnesota.
sa-678.pngsa-679.png

Dayln has some kind of medical emergency.
sa-680.png

I went to her page to see if I could get her version of what happened. Instead I found that this is the date she started her “sobriety journey.” Interesting. I’m going to guess whatever happened scared her sober. She doesn't seem like a hardened alchy who has seizures from quitting.
sa-681.png

Sarah’s buying land and starts a new GFM for her vanity project. She gives her address as Faribault, a little south of Elko. $50 raised.
sa-682.pngsa-683.png

EEG leads
sa-685.png

I see we are on the same diet plan.
sa-686.png

Adds kittens to her hoard.
sa-689.png

On 6 October, another GoFundMe, “Cronic illness: heart surgery fund.” She took the text of her original one and tweaked without proofing. This one she says she works hard for what she has and is worried it will all disappear. She eats healthy but doesn’t exercise much because in 2012 she was diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia after going to the ER 5 times in a month. She says she had cervical cancer. The story about calling her mom while crying hysterically over her new health problems hits different when you know her mom was dying. Got diagnosed NCS. Still saying the pulmonologist diagnosed her with narcolepsy, now w/ cataplexy. The cardio agreed with the NCS, the neurologist thought it was panic attacks. She was diagnosed with "inner-body panic attacks" and “absent seizures” and has up to 10 in a day but still driving, and still describing it as stroke-like symptoms. She’s now fainting at work. She can’t get out of bed. She has a naturally slow or fast heart that is in the 30s or 200s and a naturally low or high blood pressure. She takes 11 medications a day and doesn’t want any more so she’s getting surgery and begging for a WEARSHADE SUNLIGHT SENSOR to let her know when she’s gotten too much UV.
Screenshot 2024-09-15 at 22.45.56.pngScreenshot 2024-09-15 at 22.46.08.png

The Wearshade thing a sensor you wear on your wrist that connects to your phone and tells you when you’ve had enough sun for the day. How would this mitigate any of her claimed issues?
sa-690.pngsa-691.png

Med posts increasing. ER again, this time because she’s trying to befriend a feral cat and gets got.
sa-692.pngsa-693.pngsa-694.pngsa-695.pngsa-696.png

On 18 October she gets cardiac ablation surgery. It went well but didn’t fix her tachycardia so she needs a second. Other options won’t do. This next surgery would actually be three procedures in one, and if that fails she needs a pacemaker. The first one failed because instead of the one spot they thought they needed to fix her whole heart is fucked and they also found other defects that need to be fixed. What do you want to bet it’s something like Sophie's pinhole?
sa-698.png

Good news, she’s giving up on feeding all her animals a vegan diet. Some vegans try to talk her out of it.
sa-699.pngsa-700.png

I checked a bunch of the old gang she was friends with before Florida and a bunch of them are now Friend of Bill sober and/or grown ups who don’t have time or desire to hit the clubs anymore. Sarah still wants to be that 23 year old partying all night.
sa-701.pngsa-707.png

Website for the rescue. Dead and wayback didn't crawl it.
sa-705.pngsa-706.png

Holter.
sa-708.png

OH COME ON. It’s a cute little baby in a costume.
sa-709.png

She’s starting work with a cat rescue, pulling cats from kill shelters and adopting them out. I'm sure some of you just remembered where this is going.
sa-710.png

ok, I’m impressed.
sa-714.png

Except this. This makes me think you are all insane and I should not listen to you.
sa-715.png

She celebrates one year of her mother’s transplant.
sa-716.png

She gets a new heart monitor, her fourth, and lets us know she had a second ablation that also didn't work.
sa-717.png

Spoken like a true alcoholic.
sa-718.png

She asks who in her facebook friends is chronically ill and anyone who responds gets a screenshot of her new Facebook community, Through My Eyes with Sarah-Jean. The page has been removed.
sa-719.pngsa-720.pngsa-721.pngsa-722.pngsa-723.png

All public posting stops in May.
sa-724.png

If you type “throughmyeyeswithsarahjean” as an exact term search, there is only one hit: a facebook page called RottenRescues. The initial post says that she’s “the ex of recently arrested Caycee Bregler.” We saw Sarah tagging Caycee in the videos of her dad playing with his dogs. This page says Sarah has moved her sanctuary a bunch of times and keeps changing the name of it. She had tons of webpages for side hustles that are all now 404ing. She’s recently been posting ads to be a nanny again. Freckles has been reported lost three times in six months.
sa-725.pngsa-726.png

They brought proof. People have been trying to talk her into surrendering the animals to someone who can truly care for them but she refuses and gets more animals instead. They also claim animals have been removed from her care in the past.
sa-727.png

Here's a post from Sarah’s facebook saying her ex girlfriend was arrested for animal cruelty. She had over 100 animals in the house, 60 of them deceased when she was arrested. Sarah says she was never allowed in the house and had no idea her girlfriend was an animal hoarder. Ohhh wow.
sa-728.png

Most of the handles here are dead ends. The twitter has no content. The websites and most of the IGs are dead
sa-729.pngsa-736.pngsa-741.pngsa-742.pngsa-743.png

Here’s her nanny ad where she says she can’t drive your kids around because her car is too small and also she has OCD. Again we are robbed of our chance to see the SJ-Rackets crossover we deserve.
sa-731.png

And proof she was using the name SentientSouls and obtaining more animals.
sa-732.pngsa-733.pngsa-735.png

proof that she had to move a lot because she couldn’t find a stable place to house them.
sa-737.pngsa-738.pngsa-739.pngsa-740.pngsa-751.pngsa-750.png

She "lied" about being an NPO at one point and then had to put a disclaimer. Real talk, Sarah's an idiot and likely thought "the money goes to a good cause" means "I run a non-profit org" until someone explained there's a legal definition of that term.
sa-744.pngsa-745.png

oop, the cat rescue.
sa-746.pngsa-747.pngsa-748.png

She says her account was “hacked and deleted” at 10k followers.
sa-749.png

one of the only pages named that’s still active – her dance group, Voltic Bodies. It hasn’t been updated since 2015. This would be why she couldn't get a respectable dance teacher job. Because any search of her name would bring up her ass cheeks.
sa-760.pngsa-752.pngsa-753.pngsa-754.pngsa-755.pngsa-756.pngsa-757.pngsa-758.pngsa-759.png

She was a gymnast. She trained for 12 years in New York then two in Minnesota but realized her heart belonged to dance. She had no formal dance training and taught herself. She created the Voltic Bodies while living in Minnesota and they traveled all over the region which let her finally afford real dance classes. Voltic bodies was when she was mostly silent on Facebook, when she was dating Jesse. After her attempt at ballroom dancing instruction fell through she created Xpress Burlesque.
sa-761.pngsa-762.pngsa-763.png

She also had Sarah-Jean Designs making dance costumes for other gogo/burlesque dancers. She’s not actually sewing things. She’s buying completed pieces and embellishing.
sa-764.pngsa-765.pngsa-766.pngsa-767.png

This one's interesting. I can't find any proof her mom lived in Florida. Doesn't mean it didn't happen - her mom is pretty transient - but I'm wondering if she wasn't just trying to use mom as an excuse while she offloaded a cat she was too busy for.
sa-768.png

Proof Freckles keeps running away and sometimes takes Gizmo with her.
sa-770.pngsa-771.pngsa-772.png

So that proves Sarah's an impulsive idiot who jumps into everything headfirst with no plan, but we already knew that. what about her girlfriend getting arrested for animal abuse? Thankfully Caycee's bad deeds are all kinds of public now because she ate a felony animal abuse charge.
sa-782.pngsa-783.png

The reason Caycee was discovered was because a 400lb pig kept escaping its enclosure. The property reeked of animal urine and feces so strongly officers could smell it as they approached. 43 living cats, 64 dead cats, a guinea pig (sometimes reported as a hamster), and five dogs were found in the search. Cats had been buried in shallow graves, thrown in trash bags in the woods, and stuffed in the freezer and garage. Several of the survivors had to be euthanized. Investigations found that between July 2017 and February 2018 Bregel took almost 150 cats from the humane society saying she was rehoming them but never did. March 2018 is around when she and Sarah split, which gets rid of my pocket theory that Caycee spiraled and got dozens of cats after the breakup, as is tradition in lesbian couples. She had a storefront for the rescue that had more cats and seven puppies but it was not operating at the time she was arrested; it was just being used to warehouse more animals. There was evidence that the deceased animals found on property had starved to death. She was found guilty and had to do 200 hours of community service, 2 years probation, a psych eval, electronic home monitoring, and is banned from ever owning or caring for an animal.
sa-778.png

Here’s some pics of her home where you can see urine and feces and overflowing litter pans everywhere.
sa-773.pngsa-777.png

She was featured on Oxygen True Crime. This is allegedly one of the dogs taken from her house but the video doesn't work anymore. The animals that survived Caycee’s house of horrors were mostly rehabbed and rehomed by the humane society except the handful that were so sick it was more humane to end their suffering.
sa-779.png

Rotten Rescues also posted about her. Apparently people had been questioning the number of cats Caycee was pulling from shelters from when the “rescue” started but were shouted down for it.
sa-780.pngsa-781.png

She was also a lifter and owned a gym. This is closed now.
sa-784.pngsa-776.png

This time Wayback actually DID crawl a website I want.
sa-789.pngsa-790.pngsa-791.pngsa-792.png

It also crawled the rescue site.
sa-785.pngsa-786.pngsa-787.pngsa-788.png

This guy fostered kittens for her but ended up cutting contact and rehoming the cats himself.
sa-793.png

This one got two cats from her. She lied about their age and health status and one died 4 days after it arrived.
sa-794.png

This one also took one of the cats. It was malnourished, infested with fleas, and reeked. He was returned after their pet cat got sick.
sa-796.png

Her gym members want a refund because they had no access to the gym while Caycee was in jail but still got charged for it, lol
sa-797.png

Caycee liked to talk shit about vets and other rescues to deflect from her own shortcomings. Once the rescue started the gym’s quality went downhill and Caycee started hoarding cats in the gym's office too.
sa-798.pngsa-799.pngsa-801.png
sa-804.pngsa-805.png

Karen says as a teenager Caycee organized a fundraiser for her daughter who was fighting cancer then stole the funds after getting a nice photo op and some head pats at the deceased girl’s funeral.
sa-800.pngsa-802.png

Danielle is fostering cats even though Caycee did no vetting, just said “ok take some cats.” She provided no vet records, they came to her in feces-caked kennels, and Caycee didn’t answer when the foster tried to talk to her about getting the cats veterinary care. The cats were never put up on the website as adoptable so the foster kept them.
sa-803.png

There's a bunch more stories and articles up if you want to do some googlin'. Caycee is active on tiktok showing she still has animals in violation of her terms of release. Sarah never returned to public posting on facebook.
sa-775.pngsa-774.png

I wanna take a minute here and say that I think Sarah is more or less telling the truth. She doesn’t want you to know she knew about and was involved in Caycee’s “rescue” but at the time that was going down, Sarah was balancing her own career (which per instagram was still intensely busy by the time she and Caycee broke up), traveling, her farm project, and as we will see in the next part, aggressively pursuing medical treatments she didn’t need.

So if we look at the dates Caycee pulled cats from shelters, it's July 2017 through February 2018. Sarah-Jean first mentioned the cat rescue in November 2017, so it seems likely that's around when she started dating Caycee. They broke up in March per her post where she says her girlfriend of not quite two months ago was arrested. Caycee was arrested May 9. My best guess here is while they were dating Sarah contributed some financials and manpower to the rescue which let Caycee believe she could escalate. She had an extra person who could buy food, handle inquiries, get animals to fosters, etc, and that meant she could "save" more cats. It appears her plan was to open the storefront as kind of a no-kill shelter and once it was operating she thought her problems would be over, but see also previous discussion re: cats being abundant and breeding out of control. Why go through the rescue rigamarole and expense when I can go to Second Street and pick one out of the litter Betty Jones found in her shed for free? We saw in the last part how long it took Sarah to give a litter of healthy kittens away.

She was banking on the storefront opening so she could move animals out at a good pace and bail herself out but it never did. I've worked with both cat hoarders who thought the fact that they loved the cats meant they were the best place for them even when the cats were dying, and with really bad dog rescues who got in over their heads trying to save them all. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

And I really don't think Sarah had any idea how deep Caycee was in by the time they broke up. I think it's worth remembering that Sarah has serious BPD and can't be objective about the people she's romantically involved with. We saw it with Jesse. He was still perfect in her eyes months after he dumped her. Entirely possible she couldn't see red flags in Caycee because of her personality disorder or made up an alternative version of reality that explained the weird behavior she did notice. Also entirely possible they broke up because Caycee was acting evasive like not letting her in the house, and it let her little BPD caged squirrel brain go wild. Customers also didn't complain that Caycee reeked like cat piss so she was presumably living somewhere else or showering at the gym before work or something.

We'll never know but I really, truly don't think Sarah was anything more than a lovesick moron who thought she was involved in a good cause.

Sarah started dating a woman named Caycee Bregel who ran a cat rescue. Caycee pulled 140 cats from a shelter in 7 months. Most of these she kept in her home, others were put in an empty storefront she intended to use as an adoption center (never opened) and finally she started warehousing them in a gym she owned. She fostered to anyone who expressed any interest and provided no vet records, lied about them having clean bills of health when they had shit like leukemia, and never listed any of these "fosters" for adoption. People who raised concerns got ghosted.

Two months after they broke up, animal control was called to Caycee's by-then-abandoned home and found over 40 living and 60 dead cats in the house along with a handful of dogs and other animals. Most of the living ones were emaciated and sick, the dead stuffed in freezers or tossed in the woods in garbage bags. Her other properties were raided and the other animals removed. Caycee was arrested, ate a felony, and had to be on probation for years with a life long ban on owning animals.

In the aftermath Sarah claimed no knowledge of what Caycee was up to. She had posted about being involved in a cat rescue while they were dating, but she was not allowed on the property the animals were in. Her own sanctuary, involvement, and treatment of animals came under scrutiny in the aftermath but nothing came of it.

Reminder: the bar’s in hell. You don’t need to prove you’re above it. I almost cut that whole last section out because don't want this to turn into another BP thread where people rend their garmies about cats for 60 pages. Caycee bad Sarah dumb, let’s move on to the part where she fakes sick now.

I wonder if any of the myriad medications SJA was on needlessly contain animal products or were tested on animals at some point in their development?

I'm guessing the probability is roughly 100% that while she was screeching about veganism she was consuming non vegan products for no actual reason, even when she wasn't in a brain spaz that caused her to buy mac and cheese.

It boggles my mind that Caycee received such a light sentence. How will they enforce the ban on ever keeping animals?

ETA, Niki Naeve, who I posted about before, has written another blog about her tethered cord surgery. She is talking about the period immediately after surgery and how to roll over when you're supposed to stay completely flat. Its pretty boring but she did post quite a few x rays, supposedly showing the issue. I'm no X ray tech, but these look identical to me, and how do you tell where a spinal cord ends in an image where its entirely occluded by bone? Can a medfag chip in? If its 'occult' why are we suddenly supposed to be able to see the issue?

"Healthy" at top, "so bad spinal surgery is required" at bottom:

In the comments she addresses whether the surgery solved her problems:

Of course it didn't, she's now moving onto CSF leak.

As someone with a close relative with a genuine spinal injury leading to partial paralysis, people who willingly fuck with their spines really get to me. They should have to spend a day with someone with a lower spine injury before deciding to go ahead IMO. Those that fuck with the upper spine should do the same with someone with an injury in the area they plan to fuck with. Knowing the doctors who do this are shady charlatans, there must be someone severely injured by one of them, beyond the results of the pointless surgery.

Yeah, I don’t get it. I was taught that occult tethered cord had normal MRI:s and was diagnosed through electromyography, urodynamics and clinical findings but here she claims the surgeon points out all kinds of MRI abnormalities, and yeah, maybe, the filum is a liiiittle thick? Without other findings that doesn’t say much (PL, but relevant I think: I happen to have a filum with a thickness (lol spinal fat) that has been pointed out every time I’ve done an MRI and I have no symptoms whatsoever).

It’s very confusing, and tbh, can’t these surgeons at least try a little harder to be consistent with their grift? In particular when it would be easier to say “yeah, no MRI findings, must be occult tethered cord, I will immediately slice your spine”. But a munchie loves an “objective” finding (so special) so they overdo it maybe?
