Most big, cutting edge games now have a GTX 1060 as their minimum GPU, which came out seven years ago now. It's even less for smaller games. Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince just came out, and its minimum requirements only ask for a GTX 750, which was released over a decade ago. Minimum requirements nowadays aren't like how they used to be, where hitting just the minimum meant the game would be a slideshow, but like, actually playable on low settings. You can generally get away with an even lower-end PC than what they ask for, too. If you built a PC in 2014, you can still play just about everything, as long as you're willing to dock your graphics down to minimum. And even at that, minimum just makes them look like Xbox 360 games.Problem is, PCs are (...) almost always constantly being upgraded, which is costly.
PCs have come a long, loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong way in recent times.
My GTX 970 is still going strong. Chads who don't exceed 1080p can stretch an older card for ages. There are still people rocking a 1080 Ti after half a decade.
