Buggy treats his people well and isn’t completely incompetent. Crocodile rules through fear and Mihawk is just a fight sexual. Buggy was key in the Impel Down breakout and is likely responsible for the Marine Bounties.

I’m just waiting for other former Warlords to join Buggy. I want this scene, but real.

When you put it all like that, Buggy getting crapped on as much as he does is pretty bullshit. If anything, the live action series really did a pretty good job at making Buggy seem like someone you don’t wanna fuck with.

And for all the memes and jokes and circumstances, I’d say Buggy may have done more to justify his reputation than Mihawk, who we’re just assuming is awesome and is basically banking on one fight that’ll happen in the future. Or Crocodile, who just smokes all day and makes people wonder how he got his scar and hook.

Buggy always has the ability to be on par with Shanks, he just wasn’t willing to put in the effort.

I don’t think getting to the west side of the Red Line necessitates going trough Laughtale. All Luffy has to do is Looney Tunes his way through.

Black blades DO NOT HAVE HAKI PERMANENTLY. They were permanently strengthened with haki to prevent damage and it does make the attacks stronger but they do not have haki inside them unless someone channels it while wielding them. Look at the Zoro vs Monet fight, Zoro used Shusui but did not use haki on purpose to prove a point.

I dislike Live action Buggy from what little I’ve seen. Buggy is not The Joker. His clown theme is playing into his giant fucking nose. He terrorized a few towns, but in more of a grandiose way than deranged.

Buggy had the best showing against Mihawk of anyone on panel. Even with Haki Mihawk couldn’t cut him.

Buggy is not weak either. He can carry multiple people when flying and his rocket punch hits as hard as Luffy’s punches. It literally is because Shanks wanted to make a hardworking black man abandon his son and so Shanks could groom a child rather than pick up where Roger left off.

You have seen too little. His Joker vibes were a bait-and-switch. He is flamboyant and a diva.
 
I said awhile back modern sensitivities have worsened the reception towards Thriller Bark in the YouTube community recently. Here’s some of the videos showing what I mean.
The 3rd and 5th ones really irritate me, specially when they go on moral tangents of how Things like brook’s character is so offensive and how sanji shouldn’t”t have reacted towards absalom like that. It’s also annoying how people use this arc as a scapegoat to say things are a waste of time when they constantly apologize for oda not working out something in the previous arcs. Cause they can’t fellate Moria And the content and Treat it like it’s gonna mean something special in 20 years. Spoiler it’s mostly a comedic- adventure.
