The more a dog looks like a wolf or fox, the more horny they get. I've never seen a furry who has a small dog breed such as Maltese or Shih tzu as their fursona.

Depends on whether he treats being a furry as a hobby or a lifestyle - some furries are in the fandom for the artistry and mutual interests in fictional animal-like characters or DnD-style roleplaying. If they've got objectively good moral values, are emotionally stable, possess cognitive thinking and are capable to experience non-perverted aesthetic and/or romantic interest towards real-life people, regardless of their sex, then they're not a threat to society.

The only reason I would tell someone in real life I was a furry is if I had a fairly confident belief they also are one and not one of the annoying faggot ones.

If you're equating furries to ancient Egyptians or even classic Disney animators you've lost the plot. The "modern furry" absolutely did originate out of nerd conventions and the earliest such artwork and publications included sexual work.

Furries like to "convert" people around them by getting them interested in furry artwork or Disney movies etc. before they slowly introduce the sexual side of the fandom. Going to anthrocon means he is big into the fandom because only the most obsessed would spend tons of money and time to travel to a fucking furcon.

We were talking about cities we've traveled to and he brought up Anthrocon. He already knew that I go to gaming conventions like PAX and Adeption. We also think 2 other coworkers are 4chan shitposters but we're politely pretending not to notice.
Isn't a large portion of the world already interested in Disney movies? I understand that Disney is incredibly popular.
Yeah I also think his fursona is a horse cause he uses a horse username and av and has a horse character model in Second Life. I dunno man I want some furries to be cool regular guys.
