Now I've never been on Twitter myself, but as a rough guess let's say that, on average, you tweet about once per minute whenever you're on Twitter. Then, these 234,531 tweets would correspond to just under 4000 hours spent tweeting. That would amount to spending one hour of every waking day on that site, for twelve years straight.

What an absolutely colossal waste of time.

The whole point of an immunity, like qualified immunity, is that it is not a defense. It's the right not to have to stand trial at all. Part of that is not having to engage in discovery, often the most expensive and time-consuming part of the litigation.

They are saying it's apparent simply from the state of the filings that the lawsuit is deficient and blocked by qualified immunity.

It's sometimes possible to get such a stay pending a normal motion to dismiss, but if you ask for it in a q.i. case you're almost certainly going to get it. I'd imagine Rick's lawyer waived opposing it because it would be an exercise in futility and arguably even sanctionable.

Look up the Canadian Colossal, Leo. I've mentioned him here before. I imagine his funeral would start that way. They'd have to take out a wall to haul him out of his house and then take out a wall to get him into and out of the morgue and finally when they go to bury they'll find that the hole is too narrow so they'll have to wait for them to make it larger and deeper so he can fit.
