Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

You can play non Microsoft games on a pc

Niggercattle man I swear to God
But you have to use Windows OS to run said PC. And ever since XP, it's been one massive pile of shit. XP is the last good OS, and good luck getting a computer that still runs it.

Okay, don't use it. Continue wallowing in learned helplessness and bemoaning that you have absolutely no options.
What makes you think I'm not using it? I'm forced to use it just to run a PC, let alone play PC games. And it's total shite.

Best there is, buddy.

I'm not sure if it's really unpopular so much as it's just an opinion, but Unicorn Overlord is my personal GOTY 2024 and it'd probably be that even if this year had better releases. It's an excellent game with the only issue being that the hardest difficult is where the normal difficulty probably should be.
Nothing unpopular about it. Vanillaware is one of the most consistent developers out there. Just need to re-release Muramasa.

PC runs on Windows software, which is made by Microsoft. Not since XP have they made an OS worth more than two squirts of wet shit.
Then install Linux. I would recommend Linux Mint. It is very easy to install and is completely free. PC gaming on Linux has come a long, long way in recent times. You can install Steam, sideload your Windows games, and run them as non-Steam games through Steam's client. All of this is free. You do not need to pay to use Steam's client to run pirated games whatsoever.

If you don't want to use Steam, you can use Lutris. That is also free. You can set your computer to boot directly into Steam or Lutris, sync a Bluetooth controller, and just use your PC as a console. As long as you have a computer, you can do all of this for free.

Microsoft doesn't control what software runs on Windows. It's an open platform.
No shit. But running them on Windows entails me having to endure them updating my computer without my consent, over and over again.

Now that's a good idea.

Zoomers and Gen Alphas are being trained to think ugly people in video games are the standard and not a weird American phenomenon.
Only in the USA. The rest of the world plays things like gatcha games with anime girls plastered on the box.

It surprises me to no end how many people think the USA is the world. The rest of the world doesn't abide by the West's woke bullshit; at most, they haven't moved past the 2010s culturally.

But since Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, and New Zealand are all trying to one-up the US, aren't they pushing for the uggo shit in video games too, namely since SBI has connections to the Canadian Government?

Total non-sequiter. We were talking about gaming. PC gaming is not "run by Microsoft," to use your words. Yes, Microsoft runs the operating system, but they don't decide what games are available on the platform.

Piracy is what has shaped PC gaming into what it is today, in that they have to compete with pirates that just give everything away for free.

Always-online DRM has choked off piracy from a near-industry-killer to a minor annoyance. Throw in battle passes and replace pure single-player with always-online PvE, and piracy just isn't as trivial as it used to be.

Just remember to update Windows every once in a while for security purposes.
It's the damnedest thing that people will scour the Internet for cracked programs, download media stripped of DRM, block ads online, or install massive elaborate mods for games, but throw up their hands and act like Windows is magically impervious to any alteration.

Why do people complain about this one operating system just for the sake of complaining, rather than breaking it over their knee the way they would with anything else digital?

Because 95% of the "appeal" of Linux is to be a pretentious dipshit about how their special little distro is Not Windows, It's Linux!* Ergo, actually trying to unfuck Windows and take out Micro$oft's bullshit would take the wind out of the sales of all the Linux faggots.
Despite the insistence of the Linux Cult, Windows is still very accessible to a casual user, so de-bloating it and slimming it down like the days of Windows 7 and before would remove every reason (except being a hipster) to "use" Linux as a casual computer user..

*Most Linux users who deepthroat it use Windows for most shit anyway, though they'd never admit it.

Yup. Windows is fine, and it's very easy to strip away all the crap on Windows 10 now. But if Lord Imperator wants to torture himself because Windows is owned by Micropenis, he is more than welcome to take on Linux's countless problems.
