The Super Best Friends Super Best Griefing Thread - Matt's a cuck, Liam is a bitch, Pat's a loony and Woolie's Way is now trademarked

Oh, dear god, please no. His BG3 LP is so frustrating to sit through; it's essentially a big brother/little brother dynamic where he's allowed to troll or gaslight Reggie, but as soon as Reggie wants to go off and explore and play the game, Woolie gets super fucking salty because he wants to play his game at his snail's pace, so Reggie just has to sit there awkwardly, too afraid to speak up. But oh no, Woolie's having fun you see, stop telling him he isn't having fun, he knows better.
It really is the worst. You can tell Reggie wants to fuck around and try some shit out but Woolie is spastic and wants to perfectly understand whats going on before taking any action.
Like bro, just chill out and play the fucking game. If the outcome is really fucked just reload your save but otherwise just play it. Theres so many permutations to BG 3s gameplay theres no point in trying to think about it.

You see, as long as Woolie puts the LP on hold indefinitely, but never actually says it's cancelled, he's still correct and winning. He's proving his audience wrong.

It's both sad and really funny that Woolie accidentally created his own Better Woolie with Reggie. I don't watch them anymore, but when Reggie came out of his shell and got more comfortable on camera, he was clearly the more entertaining of the two.. He can be pretty funny, had some decent stories under his belt and wasn't obsessed with being perfect or "labbing" every little thing they discovered so shit could actually move at a decent pace. It seems my main gripe is still true, he's too passive with Woolie and won't politely tell him to fuck off and let him cook instead of trying to find the nuance of every little pixel they see. It ain't that serious Woolie, you're trying to be entertaining and sometimes the better option is to get a little egg on your face for the bit instead of trying to become as knowledgeable as speedrunner or something within 2 hours and failing.

You'd think that as someone who decided to turn entertaining others his career, he would try to dedicate as much effort into making his videos just that, and not make it uncomfortable and awkward to sit through.

I've said before that part of why Woolie and Pat are the way they are is because everyone they know is either passive, pretentious or just as stupid as they are.

I wonder what they'd be like if they had normal friends who could keep them under control. But a reasonable person probably couldn't stand to be around them for very long.

Is it the Yakuza 0 LP where Woolie muted Little V who was telling him how to easily determine his left and right? Lol

They're like black (or whiter?) version of game grumps.

Woolie is now a slightly more tolerable Arin. He's pretentious, thinks all critics are haters, plays painfully slow and refuses to admit he's bad at videogames because "he's having FUN dude!".

Reggie is like Dan, the actually likable person there, a funny wholesome partner with crazy stories who is supposed to be a co-host but has to act completely passive to not upset his boss.

Unrelated but i find absurd how Reggie is still treated as "the quirky sidekick who reads the guide" when he's been in the channel for almost 8 years. You'd think reggie would at least appear on woolievs youtube banner or something but no, that's reserved for woolie's favourite characters.

Like, it's just funny that Reggie has been on WoolieVS longer than Woolie has been on been on 2BFP but the only thing Reggie is allowed to play on the channel (woolie's channel) are souls games woolie already played.

Escape from Bug Island is a sleeper hit. While most of it is just the guys talking while running aimlessly around the jungle, sometimes the plot happens and shit hits the fan. Like the sudden appearence of lizard woman, throwing rocks at the exposed brain of a giant monkey, the stupid time travel plot and the giant demon bug stuck in some cave. It's prime "mid 2010s SBFP playing a janky game" material
I just want to second Escape from Bug Island. I go back to it every Halloween season because it's such an endearingly stupid game and LP. It also had the perfect amount of jank frustration that stayed funny and never really held up the playthrough. It's basically a B movie in video game form.

I think the subreddit did a fan vote for top 25 LPs and it was mostly usual suspects with every souls game and Omikron being the top 1 which i personally disagree but it's certainly a community ranking.

I think there are some underrated LPs that most people ignored cause it run with another more popular LP (rip tokyo mirage sessions) or are from a less popular pair. Like Chasing Dead is such a great trainwreck of a LP (the audio gets more delayed as they play and at one point the trees start movign) but it's matt+liam that most people hate but i watched multiple times.

Escape from Bug Island, The Cat Lady and Disaster Report are kinda slow so they're forgotten but worth at least a compilation. What we need is a good one off and shitstorm recs cause there are too many of those. Mystery box is also hard to track and i only remember this gem of exchange

I think the actual best are things like the Downcoming games even if they were very shoddy from a production point of view, and also Barkley because it was like seeing two apes (Liam and Pat) reacting to the monolith. For a brief, beautiful LP you could see two young white Canadian men accept that racism is funny and that they could be pals.

We were denied a future.

Woolie really has 0 timing. He really cannot do a LP when there's any kind of hype around it - there's nothing worse than a LP that's super late or being resumed for a long pause and this would be both.
It doesn't help it takes him forever to make any progress. So by the time he is probably about a quarter of the way through the game everyone has already moved on to the next big game. Everyone has already beaten the elden ring dlc almost 3 months ago. And he is still going through at his usual woolie pace.

Woolie and Pat are very rigid and set in their ways, failing to grasp that the medium (as shallow as it is to call so) is constantly evolving in a manner that you either keep up or fall to the wayside. Streaming and the culture that surrounds it, it requires a level of interactivity and communication that neither are willing to do. Take Twitch Con for example, THE networking hub and social event for fans. When even guys like Moonmoon and Asmondgold, two guys who don't even want to leave the house on a regular basis are making the effort to attend, what does that say about Woolie and Pat? Even Vinesauce is aware of this and that guy looks terrified in every fan photo.

Their Downpour playthrough is a classic cozy watch. I'll probably pull it up today for background ambience. My favorite playthroughs always included Pat. He was a good foil to the other friends, whether it was with Liam playing Barkley or playing I have No Mouth with Woolie.

Sad to see how much he's devolved on his own.

Pat is fully "in" on the Warhammer 40K universe after beating Space Marine 2 and showing Paige the Necron. He has apparently bought some books and is doing a crossover stream with Madalore Gaming tomorrow. He is also trying to collaborate with Bricky on his 40K lore videos, after appearing on Bricky's podcast. There were no sponsors for this week's podcast as well.
