I like dogs but am more of a cat person. Not really sure why...I don't think there's a strong psychological component to it. This is what most concerns me, as a citizen, about modern Democrats. Nowaday, they are tacitly (or overtly) in favor of physical violence to achieve political goals.

They didn't used to do this, you know. Prior to Obama and the rise of the SJWs in the 2010s, they were reasonable. They opposed sending our soldiers abroad and opposed policies infringing on civil liberties. 9/11 was really the only aberration, but remember that the majority of Democrats opposed invading Iraq at the time.

Obama and his cadre were Marxists, or at least Marxist-oriented, and it shows.

Dems don't even bother pretending to negotiate and sign treaties anymore because the kind of treaties the left would want would get torn apart in a Senatorial debate. And all of them would be hugely unpopular with the wider public. We do 'agreements' now and you don't get a say.

To be fair, Congress has abdicated or delegated a lot of powers to the executive branch in order to try and bypass gridlock. Democrats pushed this further than anyone else, but I don't see the GOP trying to limit executive power (with few exceptions, like Jim Jordan and Rand Paul). It's been the Supreme Court doing the legwork, such as striking down Chevron deference.

The last time there was a war in North America was the US Civil War, over a century ago. The last war in Europe was the Balkans Wars, which the EU completely bundled, then begged the US to solve, then got mad at the US for intervening in, and then gave themselves a Nobel Prize (literally) for "solving" it after dumping Romani war refugees on toxic waste dumps. And the EU continues to do fuck all as the Kosovo situation gets worse.

I don't know how to put it gently, but the Europeans are not very good at managing their own shit. Their way of "solving" problems is to give Germany and Belgium more power.
