-Has a retarded term for his friends/associates called "oomf/oomfs", which sounds like a adult trying too hard to be relatable with kids
oomf/oomfie is generic GenZ twitterian slang, it's not really a red flag and has nothing to do with trying to attract children but yeah every time I hear it I start punching walls and trying to rip my face off my skull it's so fucking stupid, 20+yos regressing into googoogaga language

Adding to this, "oomf" generally stands for "one of my followers" and it's a term that's been widely adopted across Twitter even before it got bought out by Musk.

A lot of questionable and obnoxious people do tend to use it liberally though. Or ironic shitposters.

I own 15 fumos, with a 16th on the way. All legit ones.

No shame, no regret.

I recall there was also some custom-made Okuu fumo, didn't some youtuber make it?
There is a legit one now:
I have a Yuuka, her skirt kinks a lot but she's really high quality.
So does mine, and none of my other fumos are like that
Not me, but I know a coworker of mine (or at least, someone that parks in my parking lot) has a Nazarin fumo in his car.
A legit Nazrin fumo is on preorder right now lol:

I'd like to get some fumos in the future, but they're always rapidly out of stock (and there's also no official Murasa fumo from what i know)
I want a Yuuma plush (doesn't have to be fumo) with the stupidass face she has in Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost.

I will admit to being a dollfag.

Yumemey (the youtube trannoid who popularized fumos in the west) made at least one, and then there's also Cherries, who made and sold a small run, and then there's the official Okuu fumo. Blackriver Handmade (aussie ex-pooner and ex-brony) also designed and had a Chinese factory produce about 100-150 30cm Okuu plushes.
Ah, seems like Yumemey's was the one I've seen, and of course it's by a tranny.
Neat! I've took a look around the site and found some of the fumos of Patchy and Nitori. There's also Orin, perhaps it would be neat to get both Okuu and Orin, and a nuclear reactor too, for a complete set of a subterranean nuclear power station. Though what's up there with some of the listed fumos that seem to have same photos yet listed by different prices? Or could it be that I'm not noticing something? And I'm not talking about the ones of bigger sizes.
Heh, now that I did mention Nitori, I do feel somewhat peeved about this "recent" thread by a user that's now banned.
Fumos are just overpriced weeb funko pops
Don't worry, in case if I turn into a horrible-horrible doll hoarder I'll make sure to post that terrifying mass of things in the consoomer thread for people to get horrified by/laugh at.

I've taken a look around Moriya Shrine forums, came across this thread from april this year that I did find interesting, though I guess it ain't the horrifying/funny things community watch exists for? But to tl;dr as it is quite long, some guy over there thinks that Touhou community's in a bad state due to the amount of fanworks being produced is decreasing and overall the splintered state of things, ZUN not really caring about the series and just pumping out a game/comic a year and some guy he hired that handles DMCA takedowns and the like hampers some of the fan works/preservation of older titles like early Windows and PC98 games? And so the OP over there proposed some solutions, rather naive at that, like to centralize the community to some singular resource again so it would be easier to discover fanworks, remove gatekeeping (quite sure we have several specimens listed in this thread which would make him reconsider), and kindly ask ZUN to hire some people to work on games with, or become some sort of "community fanworks supervisor".

Apparently someone else from Maidens of the Kaleidoscope decided to link that thread over there and discussed it too.

I've tried looking into archiving, though archive.md doesn't seem to open up on my end. Perhaps I could save those as .pdfs, though wouldn't they have some data inside that could possibly compromise my opsec?

Expected combination of retarded ESL niggers and literal autistic children, got surprisingly based and realistic discussion.

The OP is a little doomery and naive as you say. Gatekeeping is a phenomenon of a strong shared culture, which used to be represented in forums and imageboards: lurk moar or fuck off. There's no reason to develop and preserve that culture when there's no social barrier to entry. Decrying gatekeeping is papering over the real problem, like claiming the solution to demographic crises is more immigration.

Also lol at suggesting people usually move on from Touhou games because they're too easy, it's the opposite if anything. Some of those games demand autism and masochism levels way beyond arcade shmups, people will spend thousands of attempts getting consistent at a single pattern. That scene is the strongest it's ever been right now ("strong" relatively speaking), with most of the games seeing new world records yearly. It's also one of the few areas westerners excel in.

Yeah, majority of dumbasses migrated to reddits/discords so on any surviving forums there are some interesting discussions from time to time.

As for gatekeeping, I agree, some of it would be required. Though, I think I still may not understand the concept of it fully, is it primarily about kicking out and shunning some of the community members for violating the community rules, and not like some silly shit like 100 question questionnaires about the lore before someone joins some forum/group? And I guess people are also generally afraid of gatekeeping due to appearing to be mean to people or something by excluding them, and then also being witnesses to whatever elitists that take things to the extremes which may have almost killed their communities.

Hm, I think it generally gets masochistic at the Lunatic difficulty, especially with those self imposed challenges of not dying and not bombing, as those runs seem to be the pride and joy of the Touhou pros. As in Normal difficulty playthroughs, upon getting into trouble player could bomb through some of the parts, but yeah, memorizing the patterns is a must in a lot of shmups. Though as I've heard, SA did seem tough as bombing in there would also consume shot power, and I'm yet to try that one out, but I keep getting sidetracked by some other cool shmups with spaceships. I'd mostly consider myself to be a casual player though, and I stick to normal diffs in games.

The real Funko, Japan are Goodsmile's Nendoroids. Being above the bar that Funko is on doesn't mean that it isn't a mass produced cheap looking good. As is the same with Fumos but they only make those in waves.

This kid hasn't been there in the pre-2012 years and it does show. Touhou hasn't been a centralized community at no point in its history. The fact that there exists a lot of small communities for this franchise with their own tastes and fan media reveals how little he knows. The series manages to be so many things simultaneously that just about everyone can get something out of it. It simply thrives off of creative division.

Whether they like it or not, the franchise has been semi-corporate for some time. And the official releases are the whole reason we're even here. The game quality arguably never mattered as the newer installments are for keeping fan interest up first and foremost. The secondaries have helped marketing the series since the beginning and it worked well for 'ol ZUN. It also works about as well for us since we have more e-drama to look towards.

Arguably, I would like to believe that the series' popularity began largely with IaMP, the first fighting game done by Tasofro, who would go on to make several fan and official works later on. Also does show as they were likely chosen due to ZUN being pleased with their work on Eternal Fighter Zero, an KEY doujin game as they were HUGE back then in the doujin scene.

Crossposting from Team Fortress 2 thread, imageboard rejects from Kogasatopia are Touhou adjacent, aren't they?

Is this how crossposts are done, or did I break some law and now I'll receive a death penalty?
no that's how crossposts are done, but yeah touhou and tf2 is a very og combo, sadly and thankfully the closest thing you can find about touhou and tf2 is from 4channers that either coom to the endless amount of fucky shit touhou has or just want to pretend this is the good times (2009-2012).
