Yeah Trump in 2016 was more controversial, a candidate that people were more afraid of supporting because of the social stigma at the time especially with Queen Hillary expected to be coronated to the White House in 2017.
It helped that in 2016, Trump spoke of stuff that the average american cared about and was more moderate on certain issues than HillDawg while Hillary's campaign was about her being a woman and how Donald Trump says mean words down to an ad of a child seeing Trump curse on TV.
But nowadays, it is more socially acceptable to support Trump with his supporters often being more outspoken than not, which presents a different landscape.
Alongside Trump being a rambling old man who went further right, spends his time whining along with selling random junk, and prepping his base for more election fraud (if Kamala wins, I guarantee he's going to do another Stop the Steal lawfare campaign)
