I really don't understand why so many people were disappointed by Trump's first term, he was literally the best president we've had in 30 years and for a lot of people the only good president in their lifetime. What is it about him that was so disappointing, did people really except their to be concentration camps or something? Are people real big bump stock enthusiasts?

The people most disappointed in Trump don't seem to understand at all how the federal government works or the nature of Trump's early mistake.

As for the government, a lot of people think the President can "have Congress pass a law," and use that exact phrasing. They also think the President has unilateral control over the Cabinet and can fire anyone he wants in the federal government. The GOP Senate made it as difficult as they could. Then you had Washington elites send out memos to everyone that if you worked for the Trump admin, you could forget about ever working in that town again (same thing they did to prevent Trump from hiring competent legal counsel after The Steal). So Trump's pool of potential competent people was very, very small.

Trump's earliest mistake is the same a lot of people make when they're new to the GOP, or haven't paid attention. He made the mistake of thinking Republicans wanted to win. He believed that, after a brutal primary, if he extended an olive branch to the establishment by appointing them in his cabinet, they would make amends, be happy to run the table against the Democrats, get things done, and build a winning government. Instead, of course, they were interested only in how much they could cripple him.
