Just because you can have reasonable takes about things like xenophobia, guns, the role of government and the elite in society, abortion, equitable access to resources, environmental issues, micro and macro economics, foreign policy, nuance and context in politics, national sovereignty, police actions, labor unions, misogyny, separation of church and state, immigration, and societal norms... doesn't mean you're a "liberal".

You can find any specific problem in the endless combinations of human interactions you want. But none of them are so monolithic that you need to completely destroy the fabric of society to fix.

Also none of those problems can unilaterally be solved by one man alone and any man who comes in saying that is such an obvious grifting snake oil salesman, that I’m shocked the level of critical thinking skills in this country has dipped so low that people believe him.

Though at the same time, Trump’s rise is a direct result of the right’s attack on education for the past few decades. Remember Rick Santorum shitting on the college educated? A mother fucker who went to Penn State (and who’s name is now synonymous with the frothy discharge after gay sex)

My dad is not college educated but he's as anti-Trump as it gets. Like even more than I am.

The rest of his family is die-hard MAGA. For example, my uncle (his brother) is so brainwashed that he blames Biden for literally everything. He claims Biden negotiated with the Taliban to let them take over Afghanistan and that Biden made the wall get torn down so illegals could flock in. He even got mad at my dad because my dad pointed out those are obviously not true. He's like a Thunderdomer only he's married so he's not an incel

true, I think people are just using the "shy trump voters" to cope with him being behind in the polls. that's why they post republican paid pollsters like Atlas Poll and Rasmussen to say "LOOK TRUMP IS WINNING CALIFORNIA!" while they cry holing their 100,000 trump watch.
 
I've heard, too, that pollsters have been overcompensating for Republicans based on fatty's overperformance in 2020, and that is why the 2022 polls were way off in the opposite way

I 100% believe most Kamala (and to a smaller degree Trump) voters are the "shy voter". As I mentioned, I have seen like half a dozen Kamala signs while driving around and maybe two or even three dozen Trump signs and when politics ever gets brought up (usually by a very vocal Trump supporter) you can immediately see which candidate they vote for.

Actually my personal conspiracy theory is the left leaning pollsters have been under reporting Kamala's polling numbers because that's kinda how 2016 went to Trump, with a lot of people thinking that's it's going to be such a sure election that they don't need to go out and vote.
