S300 is obsolete, S400 is just a soft upgrade of S300 (S400 export version) and I would assume it has same faults and is prone to being jammed due to sidelobe radiation which was fixed in domestic S400 non-export version.

The S-300 isn't the export version of anything, it's a good long range SAM even today although the S-400 is better and the S-500 (all two of them lol) is better still.

They probably really lack in the radar department too. You can count the number of countries that will export a functional Actively Scanned Electronic Array radar on one hand and all but one of them would even consider selling to Iran. Said list is the US, China, EU, UK, and Sweden. The Russians have their own but aren't exporting, and considering PLA wants to take a crack at Taiwan (and prefer the Palestine issue go die in a fire) I highly doubt they want to sell this shit to the Iranians

S400 export version is just upgraded S300 and is not an actual S400 that russian military uses. All these systems are useless against modern anti-radar practices except some of the old UHF stuff.

You also don't need tracking phased array radar. If you won't see a plane on classic dish, you won't see it on phased array either.

US also collaborated with French to create software which enables them to see Iranian airspace with passive observation, showing what they can detect with their own radars. Combined with satellite launch detection you can just dodge missiles that way.

And wonk I've heard is that ballistic production has slowed way down as they are working to try to fill Russian orders because of the insane premiums Russia is offering for drones, weapons, systems, and ammo.

Right. Even if we ignore system component interchange:
S-300 is a modern battle field viable SAM system. The range and RADAR are aged, and the missiles aren't exactly top of the line, but it is still a potent threat to anything it can detect that does everything a previous gen air defense system should do: Command a complex of SAM launchers with the ability to pick up and move rapidly.

S-400 is Russia's current "production" and modern battlefield quality system. Even though recent events in Ukraine have shown that its lethality and capabilities have been oversold, in the proper hands its potent with excellent range and RADAR ready to present a least a challenge to 5th and 6th generation fighters - its far, far from a hard counter but it wouldn't be able to be ignored either. The S-400 does also get an (semi-unwarranted) boost from fan boys because some of the S-400 range tests were done with S-500 missiles. Which isn't exactly a cheat as the S-400 by design integrates with them, but those are not the missiles that come with S-400.

S-500 is Russia's State of the Art Currently/Future gen system. It doesn't have a lot of real-world data, but the range alone is extremely impressive.
