Partly it's because he's a clout goblin who targets the exact kind of retards who make up Rekieta's remaining audience. Partly it's because he's legitimately a hardcore constitutionalist who thinks the government doing pretty much anything is a grave violation of everyone's constitutional rights. Mostly however it's just because he's legitimately retarded. Remember, we're talking about a man who got into Yale (5th ranked University in the country), complained it was full of the exact kind of people who go to Yale elitists and then transferred to the University of Tennessee at Chatanooga (currently ranked 315th out of 436 universities).

As someone who's met Barnes on more than one occasion and noted his mannerisms then and now, and judging by his standing physique that resembles an apple on a stick, I'm going to venture the guess that Barnes is not managing his blood sugar correctly, quite possibly has addiction problems of his own, and this let's him sperg his inner worst version of himself. It's unfortunate, he could be so much more informative and useful to the public--which is what he likes to believe he is.

Next hearing currently not scheduled.

A settlement conference is often a routine step in court cases, where the court takes one last shot at getting the parties to make a deal (with the judge mediating) before going through the expense and hassle of a trial. I am not sure this indicates anything except a move toward the trial stage.

3. Nick didn't want to dox his own house even though it's well-known where he lives.
4. Some combination of in-patient rehab and whatever conditions Nick is under makes it difficult for him to receive mail at his own address.

Given his circumspection about the kids "returning" I suspect he swapped houses with his parents. The kids get their own rooms but Nick and Kayla can't live there. He must still need supervised visits.

Not sure why this wasn't sent to his lawyer though.
