The way to solve school shooting is to recognize that public schools are government institutions and as such to provide the same necessary security and target-hardening we give to other institutions. Have some cops on shift in the parking lot, actually follow up when students on SSRIs make threats, squash school gangs, there's a lot you could do.
But who am I kidding, fear mongering is more important than your kids lives so the problem must be allowed to go untreated.
