Easy. They like the theme or style of that time, not the time itself. They want the style with their modern opinions and agendas, not knowing that some of the opinions and edge back then were what allowed these styles to flourish.

Madness is still pretty good tbh. I never paid attention to the shit outside of the main videos though.
Did some digging and yeah he did. He also drew porn (https://rule34.xxx/index.php?page=post&s=list&tags=krinkels NSFW obviously) . They seem to be commisions so the copium is that he did it to scrape by...
Edit: on second glance he seem to feature non-commision and sexually suggestive artworks on both his website and furaffinity profile. Well at least he kept his furfaggotry separate from the madness series and I respect him for that. Many of my prev followed creators went down the furshit pipeline and let it bled unsolicitedly into their regular content.

I only know Krinkels from Madness Combat and I didn't even know he was a furry until you mentioned it. I think that by itself speaks as to how the furry hasn't bled into MC. At least not yet, judging by his most recent upload it still hasn't bled into the animated series or Project Nexus (The game).
Speaking of Nexus, it could have had furry cosmetics snuck into it since it has a very in-depth character customisation via equipment. But it doesn't have any. As far as I know, it doesn't have muzzles, tails, animal costumes, nor anything like that. The game is good btw. A main campaign and secondary campaign with a custom character with a shit ton of cutsomization. But it will be adding workshop support in the future, which will inevitably lead to degenerate content being added by users (that you can ignore).
I have to give credit to the guy for not inserting his furry OCs into the series or game like other creators. Unlike the Caves of Qud game devs for example, who inserted their furry GF that you can't kill unlike important quests NPCs that can be killed randomly offscreen.

I've noticed a good number of sharty users trying to skinwalk as a returning Averi on twitter. This 'ironically roleplaying as a based furry' schtick stops being ironic pretty quick and you're just a furry at that point.
