Seriously what's the deal with that guy anyways? His posts and threads have always been so schizo even by Kiwifarms standards. He once made a post about how democrats' children should be sent to camps, and he seemed 100% unironic about it too. Does he even talk to anyone irl? The "nice" thing is more absurd revisionism. Anyone paying attention can see that the Dem side is primarily concerned with attacking their opponent while Trump, although he makes his share of attacks, is focused on stating a vision for the future of the country. During the debate Walz talked far more about Trump than his own running mate and repeated all the standard smears. Any civility he shows is only on the very surface level, his rhetoric makes it clear that he's lockstep in the rest of his party as seeing MAGA as a cancer that must be wiped out by any means fair or foul.
After the first attempt on Trump's life Biden backed off on the "threat to democracy" language for a grand total of like two days, and the last attempt didn't elicit any change from Kamala. Anyone who isn't 100% in the tank for the left can see the hypocrisy.

Yep, Trump's numbers are so good right now that you have no reason to get up and go outside to vote! He's already got it in the bag, already practically won the election when he falsely accused legal Haitian immigrants of eating people's pets based on a facebook post on live television, or accused Kamala of wanting to "perform transgender operations on illegal aliens in prison", or during the most highly televised event in the election cycle.

Hillary was already unpopular, the dem vote was split due to Bernie bros and protest voters for Stein, Comey dropped his shitshow as the October Surprise and the DNC got too complacent, so Hillary completely neglected to campaign in the south.
You're conflating popularity (being liked) with popularity (being known). For example, Chris Chan is very popular on the internet. He is not genuinely liked. He's well-known for being mocked.
Trump has been one of the most contentious men in politics for the last decade, that plus his COVID blunders cost him the 2020 election.

A lot more people watched the debate this time around. I think partially because Trump is 80, most of the king makers are older than Trump and doddering, the GOP actually had to pivot because Trump outright took control of it, and the DNC is struggling to find a direction.
This election is effectively deciding the direction going forward. Trump seems like he is trying to cement a legacy by forcing the Republicans back into a competitive mentally, actually playing to win. Democrats are basically in a power struggle where most of their leadership is in disagreement with it’s alternative wings.
Vance is young and sharp. I think his introduction and answer to the Israel question was masterful, I would’ve liked if he referenced the Abraham Accords, but honestly if he’s trying to swing moderates and Democrats who wanted Kennedy, but are on the edge. He did great job.
Walz didn’t do awful, but a lot of times he had no answers. I think he stumbled when Vance avoided giving a non-answer and when they called Walz out for lying. He was outclassed.
