I found the post it came from. The house in the back isn't deep enough in that much flooding, and the boat behind her shouldn't be that out of focus. However, just because we don't have a picture of it doesn't mean it's not happening.

This lines up with a story told to me my a former co-worker who did volunteer search and rescue, and was in Katrina when it happened. I hesitate to give all the details of the story lest I power-level, but essentially a FEMA rep tried to order national guard to fire upon my co-worker for rescuing some kids from rising floodwaters in a borrowed fishing boat, because said boat was not officially approved rescue equipment (which would not have arrived before the kids drowned).

With my former co-worker's story and the story above, I am absolutely willing to believe that FEMA is more focused on doing bureaucratic box-ticking than being effective or permitting anyone else to be effective.

It's just a horrific shitshow all around and all the stories on Twitter about fema are really bad. One guy was seriously wondering if they needed a citizens militia to stop them from fucking with peoples lives and rescuer's.

They would get the same treatment as Kyle Rittenhouse did, and many of them would have their lives ruined by the process.
