I wouldn't put all our eggs in the basket so easily. We still have another month. Bad omens all around. Bad, worse times ahead if we measure the waters. Let's say Trump won; he has four more years. But a lot of fundamental problems will still be there. And his replacements? Four years of comfort sounds nice but I suggest stocking up if there was ever a SHTF scenario. America cannot be "fixed" without drastic changes no politician will dare to cover, and not without violence against the state once again like ye olden days I believe, to an extent.

Good thinking, but aim a bit higher at the DHS. If Trump/Vance really do win the elections and weather the subsequent deep state coup attempt (that's a big if), Mayorkas would be the ideal person to make an example of. Nobody likes him, and he'd make an excellent target. It may not end up with him in prison, but making his life hell with lawfare would still be satisfying. Beyond the personal level, the DHS is easily one of the worst federal agencies, just rotten to the core. Dismantling them would remove a dangerous power center. Something like this will be hard, but if a new presidency doesn't eliminate its worst opposition decisively and reestablish obedience in the bureaucracy, they will be undermined and strangled the same way they were last time. FEMA and the DHS have provided convenient reasons to get the axe. It's a good opportunity: use it or lose it.
