Who do you think makes culture? Artists and musicians. And it used to be the Right did have cultural influence under Walt Disney and Charlton Heston and whoever made The Ten Commandments movie. Christians did used to make art all the way back to the Renaissance, but then stopped.

Even with big players like Uncle Walt and John Wayne, conservatives in Hollywood have basically always been having an uphill battle. Ayn Rand's writing back in 1947 could be published today and still be largely relevant.

The purpose of the Communists in Hollywood is not the production of political movies openly advocating Communism. Their purpose is to corrupt our moral premises by corrupting non-political movies — by introducing small, casual bits of propaganda into innocent stories — thus making people absorb the basic principles of Collectivism by indirection and implication.

The principle of free speech requires that we do not use police force to forbid the Communists the expression of their ideas — which means that we do not pass laws forbidding them to speak. But the principle of free speech does not require that we furnish the Communists with the means to preach their ideas, and does not imply that we owe them jobs and support to advocate our own destruction at our own expense.

Of course history got rewritten so the communists (if they're even considered that) were the poor victims by the evil right-wingers, and apart from some strays like S. Craig Zahler conservatives are heavily curbed or pushed out of the industry. I'm not sure significant conservative influence in popular culture can happen without either tearing the industry down completely or being entirely separate from it. Like academia, the poison is so rooted into it that there's no simple way of removing it.

Didn't mean to double post, but I think the distinction about what Christian artists even are is important. An artist doesn't have to directly make art overtly about Christianity in order to be one, but instead all that's required is that they make art around Christian themes, ideals, or just by simply exploring associated ideas in novel and effective ways. A communist artist doesn't have to make stories or art pieces directly about communism, but more often than not make things which simply hold communist themes, which are also universally when their art is at its best.

The best art isn't about just regurgitating your politics but instead weaving ideas into your art in clever and moving ways, and as time goes on it seems that the left has forgotten that more and more, leading to an eventual downfall in quality.

I'm not saying there isn't, the middle of the 20th century was filled with lots of well made left-wing art. My point is that right-wing art being pushed out of mainstream circles was largely not grassroots nor simply because people got bored of it, and that the left, at least in the last few years, has gotten increasingly more push back against them as their politics replace quality.

I can partially agree with that. I am not sure that I can say the right, or the Christians, were completely blameless, though.
It's one thing to astroturf some mainstream bs artist, but to gain complete control of almost every aspect of both mainstream and underground art, you need your enemy to make some critical mistakes.

I believe most people don't enjoy preachy art, no matter where it comes from. I think art is best when it reflects reality and makes you think about some aspect of of it, without trying to force a conclusion down your throat. That's what makes it interesting. Or when it helps you to contextualize something that you feel, but can't quite understand it. That's what makes it comfy.

That's why I'm not sure "christian rock", or stuff like that, is the answer. I think the answer is more people with good moral and christian values to make honest art.
If Christ is indeed the way and the truth, then just get people to be honest with reality and with themselves, through art, and their morals will automatically get aligned with those of Christianity. They need to do the rest of the leg work themselves, but you already did the heavy lifting for them.

I honestly believe this. There's no way someone who pays attention to reality, and is completely honest about it, doesn't at least understand how Christianity has some good points. And that's more than half of the battle won, in my opinion.

this is one of my biggest hurdles with Christianity. None of modern christianity's things are original. It is all super cringe off shoots. How many songs can you make about "I love Jesus" before it gets old? Like there is 100% a ton of stuff you could make that revolves around religion without it being dogshit.

The biggest thing they do is show up and take up hotel space and kick everyone out. They also seize control of the airports and any major transportation hubs.

The second thing they do is set up "rescue stations" in conjunction with the Red Cross. The United Way shows up soon after. They move dozens if not two or three hundred 'representatives' that take over hotels.

IF the disaster is big enough (Oregon Wildfires/St. Helens/Hurricane Hugo/Andrew/LA Riots/1992 LA Earthquake, Texas Wildfire, Olympia Flood Plains) they seize control of fuel sources, often telling gas stations they can't sell. (Which has some basis, you have to check the underground tanks, make sure the gasoline isn't contaminated, but they don't trust local testers, state or county, they make you wait two or three weeks before testing it. They can also condemn your tanks. Forever. If FEMA condemns your tanks, its over. No more gas station for you)

They seize control of donations as well as any stockpiles. Here's the fun part: Only "approved vendors" can submit supplies, and there's no pressure on these vendors to provide supplies. If they do, they do, if they don't, you're shit out of luck.

They also tell people to leave their homes, often BEFORE insurance gets there. Insurance companies love FEMA, because the insurance companies can claim the property was unguarded, which fucks with your claim. FYI: Your chances of an insurance company paying out a claim during a natural disaster is EXTREMELY low. They used to pull "act of God" on you.

They turn you down for the dumbest shit too. Have homeowners or renters insurance? No help for you. Wait for insurance to turn you down.

The National Guard and FEMA butt heads a lot. Nasty Girlz are local, so they know their way around. FEMA looks at maps and determined routes. FEMA also doesn't like people helping themselves or their neighbors and try to get the Nasty Girlz to strongarm locals doing any relief effort. FEMA security can be OK sometimes, but other times they're raving cocksuckers on a power trip who were too chickenshit to join the military and are now getting their inner Hitler on.

Active Duty gets brought in when shit gets spicy. If the Nasty Girlz and FEMA are running into armed groups, they like to cry for Active Duty to help. Most of the time it's infantry guys, not combat engineers, MP's, medical, or logistics guys.

And infantry guys are dumb as fuck. They'll ignore locals and drive an entire convoy into a flooded road and lose half the vehicles while the FEMA dork screeches. Then the infantry CO acts like an asshole because 'nobody warned him' even if the Nasty Girlz warned him, the locals warned him, and God himself showed up to warn the half-wit cocksucking bullet catcher.

The whole time FEMA is making everything more complicated, disposing of donated supplies in such a way you can't dumpster dive it, and going on power trips.

Then, when it's over, and it's mostly local services at the state and county and civilian level, they dance around talking about how great they did.

THREAD TAX: In rural ‘white’ America it’s probably the same?

I just wanted to briefly comment on ‘there’s no niggers in the Scottish Highlands’ as it is something I’m personally familiar with. Whilst there are a very few it’s mostly Indian immigrants (Doctors) or Turkish (barber shops). I don’t recall ever seeing a black man growing up but it’s not because they were not welcome. Our extremely liberal government bent over backwards to organise housing and assistance in communities up and down the country when the Afghan invasion happened. Our small town WELCOMED these families in (it’s always preferable to have young families to retired elderly ‘English’ clogging up the health service and pushing up house prices) but cut to a couple years later? They’re all gone.

I can’t speak for specific reasons but generally putting immigrants into small communities means they have to adapt. They have to learn the language, they have to work at ‘official/ real’ jobs, pay tax, attend our schools. There’s no ethnic enclave they can disappear into, no one speaking their language, no jobs working cash-in-hand and no Western Union to send money back. We were providing homes, healthcare, language, school assistance and welfare / work opportunities but it wasn’t enough. They are gone to the big cities, back to their own people and now areas of these cities have become Springfield, with places even the Police don’t want to attend. I remember vividly the street party we organised when the families arrived, the preparation made in the school to ensure our children could say hello and that lessons would be supported, the local church collecting donations, employers offering work placements. I don’t know what more could’ve been done. Now one of the houses has my friend’s elderly mother staying in it, the small rural towns are still white, elderly and dying and yes, there are no niggers in the Scottish Highlands.

Except for the Turks, they seem to thrive anywhere and have a never ending stream of baristas and barbers to work at their shops. It’s very curious that.

For over 30 years the US government AND the schools have pushed learned helplessness on the American people. The idea of doing anything for themselves is getting more and more remote.

Look at how people will pay $30 to have shitty fast food delivered instead of just going and getting it themselves. They aren't at work, it isn't too complicated, they're literally too lazy and say it's "convenience" to have other people do stuff for them.

Oof, I feel this. I’m doing deliveries for DoorDash to get some extra money, and I’m amazed at how many people will pay a premium for me to drive their order from the restaurant to their house that’s only a few blocks/minutes away. Like, just grab it yourselves! Learned helplessness, indeed.

Another time, while I was involved in a real estate venture, I got a call from a tenant who broke off a lightbulb in the socket. So I had to go all the way over there to perform what was literally a nothing fix- shut off the breaker, then spin the lightbulb cap out with a pair of pliers. The dude owned no tools himself, and had zero self-sufficiency to even try and figure it out (and this went WAY beyond not being “handy”). Knowingly being that level of useless would drive me insane.

It's an incel meme picked up by zoomers on tiktok. It's pretty much just applying pressure on the roof of your mouth with your tongue in an effort to change the shape of your face, or it's using those dumb looking rubber chew toys for humans (instead of dogs), I don't really remember which. In either case, it's meant to improve the aesthetics of your jaw. Pretty much the only documentation that could possibly support that conclusion stems from studies on mouth/jaw development in children who habitually mouthbreathe, which is prevented by the seal created by your tongue while in a "mewing-like" position.
