I made an effortpost about it in one of the first pages of the Melton thread, but it has to do with Mike (starrov) David/Redbar “stealing” the people who Melton was covering for years. Melton and Redbar have had a “truce” with eachother for a while now, but the whole experience left Melton with some kind of emotional scarring or PTSD.
I’m not particularly fond of Melton or a “fan” of his in any way but from what I’ve learned of him and his work, he’s been doing his show for a good 18 years, and he’s been basically subsisting off of the small audience he retained and covering the most irrelevant third-rate small market standup comedians up until he stumbled upon Aaron Amhole and got a new cash cow in him. The fact he’s been languishing in obscurity for so long up until he got more exposure by covering Aaron combined with the experience he had with Redbar makes him a very bitchy primadonna when anyone else dares to talk about someone that Melton is already covering. That’s one of the reasons he’s called “The Queen”.
Edit: OT, but apparently Richard Nixon was actually a very capable statesman+politician and deeply misunderstood due to the final months of his presidency.
