As for Lucas' idea for the sequels and his plans for Luke.
Lucas originally had zero plans for Luke. He didn't want to do any sequels at all. To him, Luke's story ended with ROTJ, and that's the end of Star Wars. At most, he liked Dark Empire. But if Lucas got his way, there would be no sequels, just SWEU writers doing whatever the fuck they want, so long as Papa Lucas was allowed to double-check their work.
Plans for a Sequel Trilogy were being drawn up close to the time of the Disney sale. Lucas was making those plans because the fans were calling for more movies and they hated that it ended with the Prequels. Like with TCW, Lucas was trying to compromise with the paste-eating retards who hated the Prequels; hence why he had Darth Maul revived in TCW because he was going to use the guy as the main baddie in his planned EP7. Lucas then handed these plans to Disney, who promptly threw them away so that JJ can make up his own Sequel Trilogy.
Lucas disavowing/never considering the EU real is a mix of flat-out misinformation and offhand statements he said during the process of selling Star Wars. Even before TCW there were several things he was heavily involved in and he had a lot of say in the various multimedia projects.
I don't want to get into it again, but the actual stance he held for most of his ownership of Star Wars has been buried beneath his disillusionment starting in 2008/9 and statements made by parties read: Pablo Hidalgo with a material interest in tearing down the EU.
Not to mention the fact that the man was involved with several EU projects. The Force Unleashed and Dark Empire in particular.
Yes, Force-users wiping out fleets with Force-storms that look like Kamehamehas from DBZ while fighting like Kratos with lightsabers was something Lucas worked with and had no problems with. Dark Empire had Lucas' seal of approval, with him even knocking off their original plot of a Vader impostor using superweapons and replacing it with Palpatine coming back and using the Force as a superweapon. Then he changed Haden Blackman's proposed game of a Wookiee going HULK SMASH! and replaced it with Vader's apprentice who can yank warships from the sky-which ended up becoming Force Unleashed.
The dude was fully behind the Sith becoming Super-Saiyans in all but name. He didn't give a shit about Mara Jade getting killed or Traviss the Mando-fetishist making the Jedi look bad, but his input in the SWEU made the Force-users OP, which gives new light to that time when Lucas made Vader say that the Death Star was nothing compared to the Force. Many audience members thought that the Dark Lord was speaking metaphorically. Lucas, by his actions with him fucking with SWEU stories and altering them to fit his desires, meant for Vader's line to be interpreted literally.
