In the indie TTRPG community some people us AI art to decorate their books because they make almost no money and it's really the game they are trying to sell, not the art. Even so they obviously get pushback. Zack wants to sell comic books, where the big draw is the art, using AI art? I can't imagine that working out. If he thinks of himself as a writer and not an artist, why not just write books?
Nah most of these avatars were used way before the ai craze. These are drawn by the youtuber themselves or had someone do it.
Sometimes it's both. Pomelo had a custom graphic made for his Power Ranger recaps. They overlay them onto the screen and they have various expressions and poses that act as reactions to whatever the video maker is talking about.
