tardbeacon is a better name. Which is the dumbest place to take a selfie? On that jutting out seawall?

Or atop the beacon itself

(sadly whenever the massive waves arrived they covered up the fact that there was a moron standing up there)
When it's not storming, there actual a line on the right side for a hour or so to take a selfie with it each day.

Anyone got any good live footage of the impacts? Looking for something to toss on the fourth monitor while I work. Already have Ryan Hall on and Reed Timmer on the 2nd & 3rd monitor so other suggestions are preferred. Raw live feed is what I'm looking for to possibly see the ocean surge. Thanks in advance. To any kiwi's holding out in that shit, you have my thoughts and prayers.

This. So, so much this.

I assume the owner either couldn't get the dog accepted at a storm shelter or didn't want to share close quarters with it in a vehicle loaded up with family and possessions but .. shitbull or not that doggo IS family, or it should be. Decent humans don't leave their pets to die. Always have an emergency plan that includes your animals, even if it means being separated from them while you board them somewhere safe.

At least the poor pupper has some mild internet fame now, which will probs bring a better home with someone who will love that dear, lovably terrifying monster dog.

Oh, and stay safe Florida Kiwis.
here let me rewrite this for you:

people who don't take care of their animals should be beaten with the nigger whipper 5000

This is not the place to discuss shitbulls. No dog deserves to die DROWNING TO DEATH. The dog didn't ask to be born as a shitbull. It can't help what it is. The human is the monster here.
Shitbulls are some of the most abused animals out there (and by the people who supposedly love them) so this doesn't surprise me. Really fucking sad situation, no animal deserves to have this happen to them. If he wasn't tied he would at least have a chance to escape somewhere.

What relationship if any exists between solar flares and hurricanes? We just got walloped with a big x class just now.
They dump a shit-ton of energy into the upper atmosphere and into earth's magnetic field. Solar flares impacting the earth can be easily detected in changes to telluric currents running underground, as well as changes to EM propagation through the atmosphere. There are several hypotheses on how that might affect weather, ranging from simply heating, to diverting wind currents, to electromagnetic effects causing a breakdown of a capacitive boundary between the earth and the upper atmosphere. It's still a poorly-understood area that's ripe for new study.

Highly recommending the second link, Ryan Hall. Excellent coverage and occasionally able to warn before officials do.

Not to sound like a shill, but if you decide to watch any of these livestreams, "like" them so they can continue to be pushed in the algorithm. If it reaches even one person who would otherwise not be watching the weather in the affected areas, it's worth it.

A new tornado warning with particularly dangerous situation language. The only thing more severe is the infamous tornado emergency language.

They aren't retarded for leaving their basement bro. It looks like a real party down there. Kiwis salty they aren't getting salty down in Key West today!

key west (where the southernmost point monument is) isn't in the path of the storm and Milton is still a good distance away
Aren't bands from the Hurricane already whipping Key West? Look at the radar image below:
the area of high wind is looking truly massive:
1728499239388.png

Sustained winds still up to 130mph. Yes that's a lot less than the 180 we were seeing out over the Gulf, but that's still "fuck up everything in its path" level winds.
People underestimate the impact of wind speeds. High winds will fuck up your shit and throw pieces of it into your face.

You know how it feels when you're driving with all your windows down at 55 mph? Pretty windy. Now imagine driving 130 mph, but now you're sitting on the roof of the car.

If any Florida Kiwis are still here and aren't currently watching anyone I would recommend Ryan Hall Y'all or Max Velocity for up to date information on the Tornados currently slamming you guys. Stay Safe and Godspeed.
I'm watching Ryan Hall. Even he is concerned about how crazy this shit is getting.
