Hurricane Milton

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
It hasn't slowed as fast as was predicted so if it's going to make a later landfall it's going to have to start pumping the brakes right now.

A shelter in Georgia even reserved its free kennels for evacuated shelter animals. I even saw a tiktok of an aquarium, too, that made sure its animals would be okay.
humanity hope restored
I take back all the things I said about white women. go hug your local white woman today for penguins

'I'm not panicked': British family heads to Florida for Disneyworld holiday - despite Hurricane Milton warnings
A few hours late but the guy is a spastic. Parts of Britain are getting hammered by the tail end of hurricane Kirk. We’ve had a month’s worth of rain in 24hours and a good part of my town (amongst many others ) are flooded. It’s causing chaos across the country

This isn’t a fraction of what Florida is facing. I can’t imagine it but hoping everyone ITT who is impacted stays safe.

the real hard hitting journalism going into the storm
That's probably better than hearing about the trans dogs of color being turned away from magat ran shelters, or whatever the faggot journos in florida normally talk about. You'd be shocked at the amount of daily business those places get and I bet that at the very least answers a question a few people would have.

1630 update. Rain still increasing. Wind still steady but gusts are more frequent than earlier. I've already been hearing things snap and bang in the distance but thankfully nothing my way yet.

I want added. I'm not in Florida but I'm nosy.

Wait? But... ok, i may be stupid, but what's the point of the aquarium? I mean, fish can't drown so??
More than just fish are kept in aquariums, and there's safety measures and stuff that they can take.

How do manatees fair during hurricanes? Weeki wachee will probably get hit hard.
Usually well, they find little places to hunker down, so to speak. But if they get swept inland to an unfamiliar place and don't get back out before the water recedes, they can end up stranded. I remember hearing about some manatees getting trapped in a pond at a Crystal River golf course after Hermine.

Its always fun to sit out and watch a stormfront roll over your house and the storm it brings. I hope you at least enjoy the view as a silver lining to being in it
