Video games as a medium have existed for long enough that, unless you're a [NEW THING] soyslop consoomer, there's more games worth your time that have already been made to last you a lifetime and that's accounting for taste. The problem is they will just slowly deny access to old media as they can. Just look at streaming video, where you have to either pay for new new subdivided networking or download some small free app that has the rights to those dumb 80s Saturday afternoon movies you actually want to watch.

Have any of these people even seen the Alien movies? Ripley was a genuine badass while also obviously being a woman with strong maternal instincts. Go back even further and you have characters like Mattie Ross from the original True Grit, and she was a child/young woman. And what about Linda Ross as Wonder Woman?
In the original Alien, Ripley isn't even really badass, just a professional who manages not to panic and survives by taking a chance on a desperation play. It was James Cuckmeron who decided that surviving the first movie made her a BADASS.
It isn't about being a "badass", and the first Alien wasn't an action movie. Aliens, sure. But yes, modern Hollywood is fucking stupid. Even the main chick from Xena Warrior Princess would count before fucking Jennifer Lawrence. Or another one off the top of my head, Cynthia Rothrock. Hell, Kill Bill happened before Jennifer Lawrence even started her shitty career.
