Hurricane Milton

Maybe if the houses weren't made out of OSB, cardboad and shitty drywall they woulda held up?
The hurricane in question is on the power level of multiple nuclear blasts going off simultaneously. In terms of raw devastation, a nuclear bunker or similar would have a tough time dealing with Milton on a good day.

A clearer image of the biologicals showing on radar. These are birds, y'all.

"As Milton nears the KTBW radar near Tampa, FL, the four panel figure continues to show that biologicals extend to a significant height above sea level. Again, note the blue pixels. This image shows the biological targets occurring at least to ~3-4km above sea level." --BirdCast.info

I want to believe those hits aren't birds but actually Alligators and that at least one of them will crash into those bikini stream thots pool enclosure. Then the future Gatorcane movie can say "based on true events".

Terminally online famers reeing about people taking pictures at a tourist spot far outside of harms way during a major world event is probably the second most retarded thing to come out of this thread after the Jewish weather control debate.

reminds me of the freaking out over in articles about the girls wearing the perfectly normal outfits who got kicked off the plane

this place might be diverse but it’s a very indoors kind of diversity

Fuck I bet a migration swarm got caught up in it, lots of the songbirds in my area left their nests about a month ago heading for central America and Mexico, millions and millions of birds reverse hop the aerial border every year during these months.

I'm hoping it's Canada geese. Rats with wings.

They get what they deserve for ignoring the evacuation order. The ONE TIME the government is trying to look out for them!

I don't have helpful advice - call me for tips when there's an ice storm or blizzard event - but it's past that time anyway. Good luck to anyone riding out Milton in place. Not all stay-behinds are morons; some jobs don't allow for leaving because certain essential services don't stop due to weather emergencies. Other folks, well, when it's all you've got and you can't fully replace it, walking away doesn't feel like an option. It's lunacy, but I get it. Something else that gets overlooked is that people adapt to where they live. If extreme weather is a repetitive thing it's hard to switch to This is the big one mode. I say I wouldn't be sticking around if extreme flooding was a likelihood, but then I'm also among the many who drive on snow-packed, empty roads when the orders are to stay off the streets. I can't judge.

I do want to mention that the video someone posted of the tower crane swinging in the wind gave me chills. It's a job to tear those down safely, so I'm not shocked to see it standing, but it's eerie to see it abandoned but moving alongside buildings. It gives the whole scene an apocalyptic movie vibe.

Sad part is, I don't even have a Reddit account. Or a boomerbook. I must absorb the toxin from elsewhere. Maybe it's secondhand exposure?
(but I'm shitting up the thread responding so I'll stop spreading the virus unless I have something important to add. Still happy for the rescued SUPERCUTE PUPPER with his new polka dot blankie thou!)

Oh hey, that's me!
Logging off for a few hours, stay safe fellow Sarasota Kiwis
You're batshit insane. Good luck.

Just adding on to this, birding friend telling me that people on cruises are reporting massive flocks of birds landing on boats. They can become disoriented by the lights on ships at night, but the sheer number of birds and disorganization of the flight indicates that they've been blown off course of their migration route due to the storm. This video was reportedly taken on the Carnival Glory on October 7th, supposedly halfway between the Bahamas and Port Canaveral. Spoiler contains photo of birds that died crashing into the boat.
