I'd like to give a counterpoint.

Chris-Chan is "stupid". He is genuinely low IQ. His ability to grasp the world around him is very limited. However, he is also capable of lying. He has a firm grasp that people around him have very, very low expectations for him. He exploits this. He is genuinely conniving when it comes to appreciating how little is expected of him and how little people think of him, and then using that to get away with doing as little as humanly possible, or deliberately doing things he knows he should not do with the expectation that people will let him get away with it because he simply doesn't "know better".

Greer is appreciably more intelligent than Chris, but I think he does the same thing. He knows there's a right way to file things. He knows there's a very high probability that what he filed was completely incorrect. He also knows that the bar is set on the fucking ground for him, and that in all instances thus far, every missed shot he's taken has been teed up for him to take another swing at. He has no thought that he should get everything done correctly the first pass, because he believes that either the court or I will pay for it to be fixed for him.

It's very disrespectful, both to me and to the court, but he's sad and he's disabled, ergo: deal with it.

You're both right. He's like an undergraduate with a deadline for a paper that's worth 10% of the course. He thinks he needs to file something, anything, to get a grade, because not turning in anything means he will fail the whole course, and as long as the specifications are correct(ish) then something turned in counts as turned in and therefore even a lousy grade is better than nothing. So he finds an example, swops out dates and names, and files the darned thing. As the court has thus far covered for him as long as he does the minimal appearance of prosecuting the case, he figures he will sort it out later after they have seen the filed thing and consented to keep the case open.

Now, did he stop to think that maybe adding the defense's consent to the filing was misrepresentation, or lying, or even perjury? That it was more serious than not filing anything? My guess is that he thought, this says the defense have consented, which is not true, but I need to file this, and if they call me on it, I'll just say I thought it was supposed to be this way and was not deliberately lying.

Will this work? I mean, probably, yes, considering what has happened in this case so far.
