What is a counterargument when project 2025 is brought up and the opposing party doesn't believe Trump when Trump says he's not involved?

What even is the problem with Project 2025? There are decent ideas in there, but there are also bad ones. What even is the issue being brought up? Most of the time it is just a vague sense of threat where the person can't even say what is bad.
2025 is just a conservative think tank piece about how one would go about implementing their vision of a presidency. Literally every candidate and party who runs for POTUS has something like that. Biden had it, Obama had it, Bush had it, Clinton, Gore, Bush Dad, Kerry, McCain...
If Trump's word is not good enough then so be it. Nothing is gonna change their minds anyway. They just want a windmill to charge at.

I just pretend to be interested and I ask them to tell me more about it, then I ask them how do they know that what they are saying is true. I've found that being confrontational doesn't really lead anywhere if you are trying to change someone's mind, they'll just say you've been brainwashed by red hats.
