Why does Tumblr have an obsession with vitiligo?

  • Suicide Girl model and America's Next Top Model contestant have it, spread on Tumblr, that's why.

Straight is considered the default because that's what the majority of people are, hence why this is what's most media will reflect even without anti-gay censorship. There's no moral weight to it, as it's simply just a norm. (also most of the people who act like this are straight women larping as guys.)

It's interesting how when it comes to fandom, their attitudes pretty much flip. Normally they revel in being outside the norm, part of a revolutionary alt community that defines their identity, calling themselves 'queer' (though again, a lot of them aren't even same sex attracted). Yet when it comes to fandom, they just can't accept that their favourite stories, their favourite authors, might not think about all this much - if at all.

This is why they see characters being quirky or relatable as hints that they're some kind of alphabet person. Because, hey! They can see themselves in the character - that might mean they're one of us, now!

Fandoms nowadays can't enjoy characters for who they are but what they are. That what being mostly stuff they project into the character. Its no longer "this character is just like me!" now it HAS to be "THIS CHARACTER IS LITERALLY ME IN EVERY SINGLE WAY"
Thats why they have to modify the character so much even tho they claim they adore the character but need to make it nearly unrecognizable to the original in both looks and personality.

Case in point:

To be fair, there has always been a little bit of projection among fans of a work since the dawn of time, it’s only been in the last decade that it has been dominant and accepted in said fandoms. This is why gatekeeping is vital to a healthy fan community.

Fast forward to a 2020 movie (or show I don't know) and they revealed "She's a lesbian this whole time!"
I think it was 2010's Mystery Incorporated. That show was really doing its own thing, though, so trying to apply character traits or story evolutions from it to the rest of the franchise is foolish.

In another coordinated attack by the racist SJW "artists" and their kin, Bkub drew a Marina and immediately they reacted with pure emotional rage because oh no she was drawn too lightly therefore she is literally being turned into a WASP! (White Anglo-Saxon Protestant)

Unfortunately for me, I ran into this too late as he had deleted every reply and locked them up, leaving this where he kowtowed to them and told them he'll do better.

BUT quote retweets aren't off the table so at least I can see those.

>Implying the Ink/Octolings are just cephelapod-flavor people, "racism" and all....also her expression in the official art does give off the vibe she's uncomfortable about all of this too lol.

Also to @Kiwilurk if you saw this.
To them you can have all sorts of artistic interpretations but if a character who's darker than the night sky get depicted with even a slight hue shift towards light colors, its immediately believed they are a fascist Nazi white supremacist who wants to kill all dark skin people in the name of the white race....though by these examples, its seriously just colorism now.
I would also like to wish where was the original idea for this because these opinions aren't spawned out of thin air: There needs to be a source of all this parroting......

People either blame bigots or the Ts for why support for the LGBT community as a whole dropped, but I think these self proclaimed "queer" people (whether or not these people are truly LGB or just spicy straight women who need to feel special) creating a toxic environment is what's causing support to drop. Imagine you're a straight person who wants to upload art of their favorite pairing and you get bombarded by these lunatics for being too "heteronormative". At some point you're going to have to ask yourself how a community that wanted rep, equity, tolerance, etc became pretty vile and vicious. In fact, I'm sure people here have herd the story about how some Voltron fans threatened to leak images they got on a studio tour (which would have gotten the staff in trouble) if they didn't canonize a particular gay ship. How these people think this will help the LGBT community is anyone's guess.

Wait a minute I just realized something. Aren’t the characters in Splatoon based on Cephalopods? I have never played the game but I do know a bit about cephalopods. Octopus are known for being masters of disguise because they can change the color and texture of their skin. So doesn’t that make any controversy about the characters skin color even more stupid? I mean you could justify the character’s skin being bright green with pink spots with this logic. Who am I kidding? These people don’t operate on logic, they wouldn’t know logic if it stole their lunch money and called them a tranny.

Even Marina's VA had to say something

Basically "SHE IS AN OCTOPUS YOU DUMBASSES"
And the fandom is taking it about as well as you'd expect.

A bit off topic.

Even for a human design this looks nothing like Frye. This is Roast.

Its funny how stuff like this is OK but drawing them a fraction of a shade lighter or making the boobs 2% bigger is a crime against humanity.

i mean, this is the same person that draws pearl as an obese middle-aged man. so an humanized frye that doesn't look like frye is normal for them.
edit: well, that's not obese, still a middle-aged man pearl. that is fat-ish-

This is what happens when you try to add race to racially ambiguous characters. Just because she looks black doesn't mean she is black. Plus, don't light-skinned blacks exist, too? Or are they honorary Aryan whites who should be Hitler's next right-hand man? They're octopuses. Evolved creatures after a speculated nuclear fallout. They're not any actual race and going "that's literally me!" to evolved octopuses with melanin colors that just so happen to look like our skin color and bashing people for not following your beliefs on what "race" they are isn't the win they think it is.

I mean they do that for any character that has dark-colored skin. I've seen a bunch of humanized Vivians that are niggers because she has purple skin too, and that's literally it. Madame Flurries also tend to be like that when she's humanized but I can kinda see what they're coming from.

Considering Dustborn's liberal, woke and political messages, it could have done a great feminist message akin to Persepolis by making Sai a radical man-hating feminist who ran away from her abusive misogynistic Pakistani family and is questioning her religion, along with an anti-islamophobia message about how violent Muslim immigrants are not born evil, but they are made that way because their culture is rooted in religious fanaticism and misogyny. But Dustborn just didn't do it for some reason...?
Because libshits would rather flagellate themselves to death than depict Islam as not a wholesome hecking chungus religion that has massive misogyny issues, ofc in the same breathe the devs had no issues making fun of Christianity though. However, it does seem they did try kinda dance around with something similar you mentioned for Sai but they did in a very sterilized way.

However I think the funniest thing about her character is that fact that if you interact with her in a certain way her ending involves her being becoming a double agent fed, which is incredibly comedic or tone deaf when you remember that this game is all about being anti authoritarian and ACAB.

I'm bit late on this one, I know.
Look into the farcille tag on tumblr or Twitter and take a shot everytime it's nothing but #relatable lesbian memes with a dungeon meshi coat. I fucking hate zoomers making ooc memes out of well written characters for engagement bait. I hate when those ooc memes become the default interpretation of the characters. Modern fandom are so inbred because normies zoomers only consume medias through memes, porn, tumblr gifs and "character being gay for x minutes" compilation videos. We need to bring gatekeeping back. Only people who truly experienced the source material should be allowed to take part in fandom culture.

Twitter artist: Here I fixed your art since you couldn't be bothered, I know it scares you to not be racist

Looking at the quotes more gets you art like this. "Dont disrespect her again!" they say, only to draw her fatter, one tit nearly hanging out, and pubes that look scribbled on last-minute despite these characters not having body hair.

Also is it just me or is one of her boobs bigger than the other? Oh, and those infamous oversized lips. Even minstrel acts look more respectful than this to black people.
