I got that exact same text earlier today and it was immediately routed to my Spam & Blocked folder where it rightfully belonged.
Four years ago, in a 27-hour span leading up to election day 2020, I received three different calls from some Democratic group looking for Barbara, Janet, or Candace to encourage them to vote or ask if they already have. Like your texts, these live callers not only had the wrong gender in contacting me
but the names they asked for weren't that of the person who had that number for 10-plus years before I ended up with it.If it's not incompetence by the people running these phone call and text message campaigns, it reeks of desperation. With that in mind, I'm not surprised that the 2024 election is seeing even more of a frenzy to stomp for the Democratic candidate who doesn't seem to have as much support as past candidates have had from those not voting solely for a party.

If you think it means Obama signed a bill where they were literally funding shit like Media Matters, Kotaku, et cetera, up until the mid part of Trump's presidency, you'd be right. There was a reason in... 2019? I think? Suddenly a shitload of lefty media sites that NO ONE READ had mass layoffs. It's cause they were literally being paid by the government to run anti-right wing content under a bill that the Obama admin passed. They didn't need advertiser bucks (so the ad market was destroyed), they didn't need subscribers, they didn't need readers. They were paid agitprop. Which YOU were paying for.
IIRC one of the things in one of the mega-pork COVID bills was trying to get this funding back. Not sure if it ever made it through. Finding details is hard because the left went full NO, KING NIGGER COULD DO NO WRONG on any mention of Obama's propaganda which made looking it up on Google/Bing impossible. And of course it's "political" so the AI search engines like Copilot or Gemini refuse to answer.
