Looks like he's just trying to climb something big so he can boast about it, but stupidly miscalculates his descent. It really doesn't seem like he wanted to die considering how much time he puts into taking his jacket off/putting it on beforehand. Why would his jacket be a concern if he's intentionally dying seconds later?

In stark contrast to the previous video's camera work (that didn't catch the landing), this video auteur manages to create some great foreshadowing by panning up to the flag bearer and the power cables above. But just as you see the the flag doesn't hit the most prominent power cable right above and in front, and you start to believe it was all a red herring, BOOM!, he hits the cables to the right! Now that's cinema!
