Why does Tumblr have an obsession with vitiligo?

Get ready for shitloads more of horrible art, Blizzard just revealed Tracer is a lesbian.
I'm especially excited for the inevitable salty posts trying to find something "problematic" about it.
Cause you know they'll find a way to complain.
Surprisingly, all the art is in an normal way, and there's no SJW complaining.
Let's give it, say, 16 more hours.

Why is tumblr so obsessed with a show that tells children to exercise and eat healthy? Sounds like very problematic fat shaming to me. Is it literally just because the guy has cancer?

Then again, this is probably just another case of "I never watched the show, I just like appropriating the characters for fan art because I can't come up with my own designs".

Speaking from an artistic point of view, the show may be boring and dumb but it kinda has that 'real life cartoon' vibe that is visually appealing and commendable. I think the teen/adult viewers are way more into the visual aspects of the show than they are into the actual lessons and stories. But there's a pretty strong stigma against saying you like a movie/cartoon/comic just for its visuals for some gay reason (I don't know, I never grasped it) so all I can assume is that they Stockholm Syndromed themselves to the show so that they won't look quote-on-quote 'shallow' for just liking the visuals.

Now granted, this is from someone whose greatest exposure to this show was being shanghaied into watching it while babysitting cousins, so take my words with a grain of salt, I suppose.

Also, last I knew the whole obesity/fat acceptance crap wasn't in vogue in the 50s, either...

Fat/Chubby characters aren't even the problem in this comic-- Though it would be realistic if they weren't generally accepted by people outside their friend groups.

Tumblr loves the 1950s aesthetic but hates the socio-political climate of that era. They basically just wanna play dress-up and pretend racism, sexism and homophobia never existed.

Thing is, aside form the people who watched the show as a kid, very few of the tumblr "fans" have ever seen it I think. The only context they have is the Number One song and that one of the actors has cancer. You're right though. Aside form the visuals and the songs. It's just you normal "HEY KIDS, INSTEAD OF GOING OUTSIDE WATCH THIS SHOW THAT TELLS YOU TO EXERCISE!" type of show. But they don't care about any of that, All they care about is that the memes are funny and they can get their yaoi on. At this point, its the onceler fandom all over again.

Well, that is a good point. Tumblr has a near neurotic habit of not watching, playing, or even engaging in the things they claim to love so much. It's really what causes the most of this shitty fanart. They latch onto something popular without knowing about it, try to force themselves into the character because they don't actually KNOW anything about the character, then shrug and go 'u mad, RACIST' when people who actually devote their time to these things actually point out that they're being retards.

I hate to say it, but at least the bronies DO actually seem to watch their show. Tumblrinas just clamp on to whatever looks most popular and 'subversive'.

Liking the visuals (and the catchyness of the music, not just We are Number One) is 100% why I want to see that show. I love animation, and the cartoonyness and hyper-designedness of it is really appealing to me even if it is live action. I'm aware that it's going to be a silly show for babies that is going to push some moral on me at the end of it all, but not everything a person enjoys needs to be a bastion of intellectual stimulation. Or political correctness.

The worst shows I have ever seen have been shows about pushing an agenda rather than to entertain, but pushing an agenda is all these people know how to do, so they take something that's meant to be fun and add their own agendas to it. Nobody is just allowed to have fun.

If it makes you feel any better, the creator (Sporticus) is pretty cool. He supposedly learned gymnastics on a bet.

He's got a nice accent and is attractive so that's also a factor.

You could make a better case for the other comic that Yes Homo was bashing in that review where there's one black guy in a mysterious all white town in (I think) the 30s or 50s than in that Greaser comic. You could just have it that since it's a small town, he eventually earned the trust and acceptance of a majority of the people (not everyone back then was a massive racist). The reviewer also hates Stand Still Stay Silent for not having any gay and PoCs in it.

While half of the Overwatch fandom is crying TOKENISM over Tracer's girlfriend reveal, Tumblr is demanding MORE TOKENISM.
