I want him to go just on the entertainment factor alone.

So I posted a number of times about getting back on the ambulance here.

I've spent the past few weeks working at two hospitals doing ungodly hours. My short weeks are at 60 hours and my average weeks until the middle of November are around 80-90 hours. This is only feasible to do for a field like EMS where I can theoretically get some sleep mid shift if the crackheads chill out for a few hours.

I'm working so many hours for overtime, because I need that money to exceed the average cost for food, rent, and transportation, all of which feel like they've gone up between 50% and 150% since I left EMS. I'd like to buy a house someday, so savings would be cool, if infeasable. The funny part is that the base pay for these roles (EMT) has gone up by about a third since I took my hiatus.

The point of this post is to say, throughout the Biden administration, which almost perfectly covers my time out of EMS, the pay for this field has drastically increased and even then I'm working a disgusting amount just to keep up with basic costs.

I can't possibly imagine how bad it is for people that have no marketable or niche experience. This economy, at least anecdotally for me, is at least on par with the worst of the 2008 crisis, the media is just holding water for the administration. Hang in there Kiwis. Fucking vote.

I don't have much faith in a system that is demonstrably proven to be fake and gay. The only people hurt by this (domestic Americans) are inert and demoralized from what I've seen, so any meaningful change seems unlikely.

If you aren't comfortably above water now, and have no feasible options for a promotion (or just a better job), you'll probably be living a lot like your ancestors did in the 1920's: trying to figure out how to balance not starving with not having the law crush you for fun/profit.
