With alcohol it's generally the same withdrawal mortality as benzodiazepines, as they both are GABA agonists. Rapid withdrawal will cause a series of intractable tonic-clonic (formerly Grand mal) seizures. It's called status epilepticus and it will inevitably lead to asphyxiation. I had a pretty serious call the other day with a guy who quit the booze cold turkey and seized pretty hard.

Alcohol is no joke.

Alcohol is shit, and weed isn’t much better.

“Does it kill you? Y/N” Is a retarded way to gauge the societal and personal damage of a drug.

Weed leads to psychological and physical dependence just like alcohol. (Sure, the symptoms of physical dependence are more subtle than with alcohol, but also more insidious. Alcohol doesn’t ruin your ability to have a good nights of sleep months and months after you quit.)

Weed also potentially leads to mental illness, which is one thing you at least can’t blame alcohol for.

They've had those meds for a long time now. They're called dronabinol and nabilone, and they don't work very well, apparently. I've never had any, so I don't know if that's true or not.

With apologies to the people done with this topic, this is just wrong.
The symptoms are entirely different, and sleep actually improves when your system clears the THC(between 30 and 90 days).
The long term consequences of THC use include panic disorders/anxiety, and first time use has a very slight chance of provoking psychotic episodes(1 in 100k to 250k) that could just be tainted product.

Another bit with the bigger weed farms.

PL: Living on the Left Coast, when weed got legalized, all the growers were like "WHOO HOO!" and tried to go legit.

Then an interesting thing happened.

The DEA remembered they could bust Americans growing pot instead of sex trafficking little Mexican girls and rushed the West Coast, busting the bigger farms and burning their crops. Why? Well, it's illegal federally.

But that Cartel grow out past White City? Oh, they don't have proof.

For the first few years it seemed like the feds were busting everyone BUT the cartels. We even had the FBI busting guys who would make home deliveries.

A friend had cancer so I'd get weed for them. The price was also fucking terrible at the weed shops, and you had all kinds of stupid names, different THC/Whatever strains.

Look, dude, I just want some fucking bud, not this Dairy Dash Cream Yellow Zipper Deathnote Bud or whatever the fuck it is.

At the weed shop it cost like $45/gram.

From Paco at 7-11 I could pay $5/gram in the fucking alley if I bought him a Slurpie to go with it.

It was fucking stupid.

The government is literally the only fucking people that could lose money selling pot.

I learned all about it in our required Louisiana History class in high school. In all the years since, no one has ever come up with plausible alternate suspects for the murder of David Hennessey. I think they hung the right wops that time. I mean they even used luparas, like something straight from The Godfather.

The average American, much like the average person, can be rather dumb at times, this is true. They're not that dumb though, and plenty of them DO remember when they weren't having to buy basic necessities on credit. Simps for the PRC might be that dumb though, possibly. :smug:
