I still think NV and NC may be out of reach just due to DNC shenanigans.

NC rural voters may have a really hard time voting since FEMA has pulled out without fixing pretty much anything and the state has made minimal effort to deal with the hurricane fall out when it comes to voting places. The cities of course are jammed packed with voting booths but the rural areas are few and far between atm. Par for the course

And NV is still get fucked by it's election committee (fully staffed by Democrats of course) and they'll do anything and everything to make sure only the "correct" votes get counted.

By the way, SNAP stands for "Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program." It's the fancy name for food stamps, and actual nutritional value is not a requirement to qualify. I've literally seen a case of sparkling water listed on Amazon be "SNAP EBT eligible."

I'm betting EBT is the real reason for the inflation of food prices too.
I remember Restaurant prices soaring here the second EBT was established for restaurants.

I cannot with conscious say that I support revamping or dismantling that program. I didn't go hungry as a child because of that program.

What foods should be SNAP-eligible is a matter of debate. What people decide to purchase using SNAP is a matter of individual choice.

Our family made the decision to eat as healthy as possible. I wouldn't have been eating fruits or vegetables as a child had this program not existed.

I think SNAP, like the foster system and Social Security, are things that have to exist. Can they be improved? Yeah.

iirc there IS a "not crap food" food stamp system alongside the normal SNAP, called WIC
but yeah, revamping SNAP at a massive level would probably end up the usual "reform" of spending billions to save several million dollars (and in the process also create a few dozen other things that spend an extra billion a year)
