Had to develop and deliver a training on writing incident reports and giving court testimony that don’t bolster the well-deserved stereotypes associated with AR. For example, if spelling is not your strong point, have a work friend that is your Vinegar Pussy look your stuff over before submitting it. Same with court testimony, etc. We (Royal We) don’t write like we speak — I should never see a report to review that includes the phrase “I done told…” or “I done advised…”I went through so many red pens, like a high school English teacher… “THIS IS NOT A WORD — CHECK SPELLING AND REWRITE.””
