The problem is they can't go through those growing pains and remain a national party. The problem with the GOP was the disconnect between the base and the leadership. The problem with the democrats is different parts of the base want different things. Its two parties (if not more) trying to force themselves into one for the sake of power. It isn't sustainable, and the longer the divorce is put off, the worse it will be when it does happen.

I don't really think that's true. People believe what happens. If the news all say "Kamala wins!" they'll believe that the people in charge say that Kamala wins, and that she's going to be president and she's going to get sworn in, etc. After all, what are they going to do about it? As far as the average person is concerned, that's what happened and what's going to happen, irrespective of how they might feel about it. Some people might make noise, but if enough of the power structure says "actually, the uniparty establishment wins" most people will just truck on. The USA will lose more face. More young people will just give up. Things will get worse, faster. But to may of the people who have to relinquish their control of the governmental apparatus, Trump is somehow an even worse option.

Doom doom doom. People believe what makes sense. And that bitch winning is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Trump is going to win and at this point I don't think the establishment cares. They'd rather deal with Trump than a retard for 4 more years.

I’m going to strongly press :disagree: on that one, because it’s CNN, and I’m betting more liberal white women were over sampled to create this statistic. They never tell you how many they polled and in what areas, and these specific polls imo are designed to create an outcome more than showing real data. Trump could legitimately be doing worse with white women, but I’m not going to trust CNN’s polling data on that.
