MCU fanboys have to be some of the biggest simpletons alive today. "I remember when Cap, Bucky and Iron were fighting, it had me on the edge of my seat, griping the handles it was so intense."

No you weren't. If you didn't know what was going to happen ahead of time, especially when they announced all these stupid movies ahead of time, you're a moron. Anyone with two braincells caught on early as to what this story was shaping up to be and where it was going to eventually end with the Infinity War storyline. The fact that all these films were also the same exact story meant you were never really surprised at what they were going to do because you knew ahead of time what to expect. Because you had seen each scene in the previous film that came before it.

Bob doesn't understand that is precisely the reason why so many people have shit on the MCU over the years: these were incredibly formulaic movies where each one followed the previously one point by point, beat by beat. I remember someone online around the time of the first Avengers film actually showing how all those films almost had the same exact plot points in each of their films play at around the same time mark for each film.

It was one thing to provide a standard and blueprint for others to follow. But these were dozens and dozens of films where nothing was creatively different besides a different costume being onscreen. The reason why people view the pre-MCU superhero movies with more respect now is that regardless if they were quality films, they actually had the now rare minimum standard of a film having a certain unique creative vision because of the director and others that worked on it. MCU films oftentimes had the entire battle scenes and other important story scenes already worked out before a director even come onboard to the project.

These films were the perfect definition of a corporate vehicle and nothing more. The only reason the MCU succeeded was because it was the first to do something of what it did and it smartly (at least in the beginning) spent time building up this universe. Also building up to a beloved comic book storyline. The problem now is that the films are directionless and aren't building up to anything anymore. Plus the quality of them has taken an even bigger nosedive.
