While I'm not sure if this video has already been shared in this thread, I do want to link it to provide a bit of framing for my post.

Asmongold really didn't realize how much an anomaly he is. And I feel like him getting banned and forced to concede on his view is directly at odds with a lot of sentiment he expresses in this video. He by all means was and still is an unemployed neurodivergent that just happened to gain a lot of popularity by streaming on the Internet to make ends meet in an environment that does him no favors.
He talks about how he planned to kill himself after graduating high school and only not doing it because he got addicted to WoW. He essentially won the lottery in reaching the status he's been at where he is financially secure and has a large audience of people that want to hear what he has to say, despite him having essentially no qualifications outside the business degree that he wasn't able to make anything of.
But despite the success, he has still remained in the same home he grew up in, a place that housed all the emotional and psychological problems he faced growing up and the house his mom slowly wasted away in. And despite his wealth, he still lives in filth and chooses to still not change who he is at his core. Doesn't care what people think, will do what he wants, and the real message of the video when you read between the lines is that if things ever get too tough or he can't continue living the way he does, he will probably kill himself.
So my point is, this whole situation seems like him finally being humbled and more or less held at gunpoint to "change" and realizing how disposable content creators on the Internet actually are. Have an opinion that's too spicy to cosign, we'll cut business ties with you in every facet and have your superficial friends essentially give you an ultimatum.
tl;dr Asmongold got a really heavy vibe check and revealed his power level too carelessly

I only started paying attention to Asmon recently because I realized he was one of the few people on Twitch with actually sane opinions on things (or at least more sane than the average streamer) and I was extremely surprised to see how cowardly he handled this, immediate backtracking despite strongly stating the things he stated just hours earlier, apologizing, sounding like he was on the verge of fucking tears, leaves his leadership role in OTK, leaves Starforge, claims to now want to visit the Middle East to go on some fucking spiritual journey. Literally went from being defiant in the face of authoritarian Twitch, to going bull blown hippie commie, its actually sad. It seems to be becoming increasingly rare to find people that have a set of balls, it appears most people these days have been neutered, its why I respect Leafy, because as far as I'm aware he never apologized for the shit he said, and he's fucking banned everywhere.
