Being on the spectrum could mean anything from "talks too much about things no one else cares about" to "can only talk about special interest and has no idea how society works". But he's able to work. He works with autistic children at that, so clearly he has empathy and understanding (unless it's part of a creepy fetish thing - not excluding that possibility given his Mommy fetish and breeding fetish). The optimist in me though wants to believe perhaps autism is his special interest (which, sadly, Becky would definitely take advantage of). His suicide attempt seems to have been in a situation where he felt he had no escape, rather than any disconnect from reality. Compared to others in the psychiatric system, he seems fairly "normal", as silly as that word might seem in this situation.
