Mega Rad Gun Thread

I'm not meaning to be overly pedantic but it depends on how much he shoots. If he's only running his rifle once in a while it's simply not worth the upfront costs. Also, reloading is not a time-friendly endeavor. Finally, he may not be enough of an autist to really enjoy reloading. He doesn't need to be all Primal Rights about it, but you get what I'm saying
I'll admit because indoor ranges just can't handle 300 win mag, it doesn't come out much. Me buying a box or two a year is actually significant in terms of my hoard and usage.

In terms of raw economics right now, I'd say it's cheaper to buy a box or two and be done with it. I'm still going to complain about the cost of those Boxes though. Even if I think they're worth it because I've used and tested the ammo.

Federal btw has made some crazy fucking loads for 300 win mag. They may not be as perfect as handload quality, but it's close. Their 200 grain Terminal Ascent feels and sounds like firing off a lightning bolt. You WILL kill a bear/elk/moose/anything with it.

Heck yeah, bro! I love those pistols. If you ever want to upgrade some/all of it, Cajun Gun Works and CZ Custom both make great parts and have excellent customer service. ANR Design makes excellent kydex holsters for just about any CZ. I hope it serves you well.
Thanks for the info, if I get any work on it, I want a threaded barrel for a suppressor. I picked up regular hornady back for home defense, and then I also found subsonic hornady black. I think it'd be pretty cool to fire that off with a suppressor.

I’m in a dilemma, the gun club website won’t give me a gate code and yet one of the ten Fudd commandments is never ask for a gate code. Do I dare leave a phone call and risk the chance of being brought before the tribunal of Fudds?

Also I have a 1:7 twist, I bought m885 that I’ll use to zero but I’m not sure I want to use m193 unless if I’m plinking, will a lower pressure hurt my twist? I’ve heard good things about smk 77, it’s hard to find and double the price of green tip.

I’m strongly considering buying a 20 pack of 75 grain hornady I can use to check my grouping after sight in zero on m885.

Well I got a gun I've been wanting for a while. I bought a CS 75. I'm probably going to go to my uncle's land tomorrow to shoot and align my sights. It's used so it should be broken in. It's completely blued steel, no polymer. It feels good to handle, I like the weight and how balanced it feels. It's a full sized barrel.

Welcome to the world of the CZ winners. Enjoy your bulletproof gun, much greater recoil control, and ease of accuracy and shooting. Enjoy the seethe from people who are upset that you have the greatest firearm design of all time.

Shooting 55gr won't damage the barrel (I assume that's what you mean by "hurt my twist") - it may group a little looser with M193 than it would with 77s but that's it. Pretty much all my ARs are 1:7 and they run 55gr just fine.

Rifle in a safe in the bedroom is the idea
Very bad idea. If you're buying it for home protection, turn off all the lights. Set an alarm on your phone for 3:27 AM. Fall asleep on your couch.
When the alarm wakes you up, pretend you have exactly 15 seconds to get to, unlock, and ready your rifle.
If you have reasons, kids, shitty roomates, etc...maybe leave the rifle out and hide the mags away, but close by.
The gun safe is for guns you don't want stolen, and guns you bring to the range you don't need to leave out.

The underside of the bed you sleep on, or the nightstand next to you is where the gun you plan on defending your life with goes.
Wife and I both have our carry pistols on the nightstands on our sides, and our rifles slung on the headboard on either sides. Everything else is in the safe.

Also, consider training with a pistol and picking one up. 99% of the time, the pistol will be on you or near you, and you don't have to rely on getting home to have a firearm when you need it.

I love the design, it's simple but very reliable. I had a Jericho 941, which is an IWI CZ clone. But it was bulky and it was polymer frame, and it didn't have a full length barrel. I found the CZ 75 in a local pawn shop. I did a trade plus an extra $130. I'm ready to start putting rounds through it. I'll probably do it today. The weather is nice.

Unfortunately, safe storage laws mean that you have to store them in a safe in several states.

This is a gun grabber lobby but the list speaks for it self (Archive). They range from any time not in your immediate control (CA), to when a child is likely to gain access (MN), to after someone gains access and does something (TX).

Imagine giving a fuck about safe storage laws. Lucky me I live in a state that respects your rights but I'm not going to endanger myself to comply with a law like that.

Oh I am very familiar with the Jericho. It's my favorite gun on the planet. The finest culmination of firearms design. But only the Pre-IWI, full size, full steel versions. That was a good trade.

I live in an exceedingly free state, so I forget that other states have retard laws. All that to say, you're already committing a crime in their eyes to own it and use it for self defense, might as well go whole hog so you at least survive to appear in the trial.

I'm just saying that might be an issue if you constantly get swatted like fatrick.
Plus most of those states have mag bans and other shit anyways. And the ones that don't tend to be a tack on charge for when you kid shoots up a school after stealing your gun (after a child has gained access).

Is it really that ridiculous for them to charge the parents in that case though? I've never really seen a case where the parents are totally innocent. I'm not going to LARP that I'm a parent but I feel like if it gets to that point, you done fucked up pretty bad and can reasonably be held accountable.

I'll be getting a SP-01 next year :)

"
Requires that firearms be stored locked, unloaded, and separate from ammunition in certain circumstances

When does the law apply? After child gains accessHow does the state define child?Under 17Does the state law require storage to prevent access by other prohibited people? No"

Only applicable if you have a child living with you and is probably going to be used to go after retards who buy their turbo sped adam lanza type children firearms who ten go on to shoot up a school.

That said good luck with this prosecution in Texas and defining "separate from ammunition"

It was reliable and never had a jam. I did have a round explode in it but that's because the casing was weak. It almost blew the sear out of the gun. It didn't get damaged though. I liked it, it was just too bulky as a conceal carry. So I got it's Czech Republician grandfather

I've got a BUL mid-size cherokee and an IMI full size Jericho I swap between. The BUL is essentially the same thing as the early Jericho plastics, and boy was I fucking blown away how fat the thing felt compared to my slim, sleek Hebrew Hammer. I'm used to it now, but early on it was a bulky feeling motherfucker.

If you go to handgun hero, you can compare just how trivial the size differences are.

For example:
G19 vs snubbie, and G19 vs P365

P365 is also thinner than standard. Not much, but try it and tell me it doesn't make a difference.

I will continue to harp on this in the gun topic even if it's not directly related, reinforce your fucking doors (perimeter hardening section). It is the single best thing you can do to give you more time to get a gun.
