While we are being nostalgic and autistic about an old and gay cartoon show, let me bring up another one:

Care Bears. My brother and I made fun of the Care Bears all of the time when we were little, and we were thoroughly creeped out by the theme song:

"I don't want to aspire to be anything ... I just want to be a Care Bear!" Those stupid bears are a cult and a hivemind. Run!
I was never super into care bears, but I do remember having a few vhs's when I was a really little kid. I don't think I've ever heard your song, but this is the one song I do remember.
And dammit, I just realized that now my YT algorithm is gonna be full of little kid shit.

Wrong thread. This is Captain Planet General.
Use your :politisperg: sticker. Remember, the power is yours!

Those PSAs are damn preachy but all seem pretty innocent.
That was one of the tamer ones. But I do remember one that had not just Captain Planet and the Planeteers, but Gaia herself telling the kids to tell their parents to support a bill that would ban international trade in animal parts or something like that.

But that's what's so depressing about what @CaddestSlown brings up. The idea of not testing cosmetics on animals because it's animal cruelty is not a particularly retarded idea. The idea that leftists today would fight it as conservative propaganda is horrifying.

That's a good point. Fighting pollution, having clean street and parks and not littering is incompatible with the modern leftist worldview.

A modern left-wing Captain Planet would be about fighting climate change, enacting emission standards and carbon taxes, and pressuring for political changes.

Also Captain Planet would be a tranny.
Cleanliness and health are white nationalist dog whistles.
Anything related to animal or environmental conservation is shat on and considered redneck crap (I'm pretty sure.)
Captain Planet being a male is problematic, as 'Earth has no gender (except maybe female) UWU.'

The thing is: Captain Planet on paper itself is NOT a bad idea for a kid's show or even a concept. Five different people from across the world gain the power to control the elements themselves and the power of SOULS to make sure the planet and those that live on it don't die.

And when they fuse those powers, an all-powerful GOD WARRIOR OF THE PLANET ITSELF is formed. (Woah!)

On paper, it's cool. In practice, the God Warrior of the planet itself... has a flat top green mullet. (Retarded!)

The ring shit was MUCH more interesting than the titular hero, and it's probably the most salvageable part that isn't the goofy schlock that are the villains. The elements + spirit being racially assigned is funny as fuck because of how assmad it would make people now. I'm chill with it, it's supposed to tie culture with what they represent.

If you reframe and repurpose what its base components are, and remove the CLEAR POLITICAL AGENDA that was pushed, you have something neat to work with there. You know, if you had talented writers on it. Like me, honk honk!

The Overton window has shifted that fucking much. :(
It's gotten bad, boss, real bad.

I was in the prime demographic for it and even then Captain Planet was the bullshit cartoon that gave you time to do the dishes and take the garbage out while waiting for Reboot and TMNT to come on.

We actually did have a proper implementation of that concept aimed at kids in the same timeframe. Plus it's got murder by poisoning, death by immolation and one of the weirdest suicides in any media, and all three of those happen onscreen for Captain Planet-esque moral reasons.

The cover art makes it look like an alternate universe Link to the Past.

Ever wonder if Ted Turner wonders what went wrong with Captain Planet or regrets how it came out?

When Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic The fucking Hedgehog, the franchise that is a black hole of autism, and arguably why this comfy webzone even exists, does a better job of teaching kids that Pollution is Bad than your own cartoon about 5 kids with magic rings and the warrior spirit of the Earth, maybe it's time to re-evaluate your life choices.

Far better use of your time. Magic School Bus actually taught you things.
I'm guessing you haven't seen the "new" Magic School Bus. (I don't remember how long ago it came out.) TBF, I haven't seen it either, but I've heard that it's just more woke shit.

At every point, everyone around me said that the trump campaign was supposed to just fizzle out. And the sheer fallout that happened afterwards rocked the nation to it's core. People were left in literal shock, and I don't think they ever snapped out of it.

Call me optimistic, but I firmly believe that Trump would've easily lost had the Democrats not thrown their entire weight behind Hillary, fucked over Bernie Sanders in spectacular fashion, and then have the subsequent court case rule in favour of the Hillary campaign and the rest of the DNC fucking him over in such a gigantic, public spectacle. This isn't to say that Sanders would've been a good president with hindsight had he won; the man's platforms were so focused on domestic issues that foreign policy was basically an afterthought.

What I am saying is that the 2016 Democrat primaries were a huge black pill that immediately disincentivised a fair chunk of voters from ever trusting the Democrats as a major political party. Trump's support base was entirely organic, he strong-armed his way into receiving the Republican nomination, and most Republicans stood by him whether they liked it or not. Not to mention that Hillary's horrific policy and track record post-DNC was getting far less coverage from the MSM at the time than Trump's constant campaign spiels.

The reason why I voted for Trump in 2016 was the bitter realisation that Trump might not be able to accomplish any of his policy goals, but at least he'd be severely audited by the press at every single turn. If Hillary won, we'd almost certainly have gotten into a cataclysmic nuclear war with Russia with her bloodlust for a no-fly zone in Syria and the press would either gloss over it, or outright try to vindicate her like they are with Kamala right now.
