He isn't making any money off his books. If anything his publisher lost money on his advance. None of Patrick's books haven't sold anything approaching even. Whatever the source of his income, it isn't from his "career".

His in-laws paid for his legal troubles. I'm pretty sure that was proven or as good as because Patrick insists that he hasn't paid Quasi. Which would be technically true if his in-laws paid Quasi, and something pat would say to protect his worthless ego. Of course, if it is true, it only makes it worse. Any decent man would sell his kidneys before he let his in-laws cover for his catastrophic fuck-ups, or he be out working multiple jobs to get it paid off, but pat is more pig than man, and has no shame.

As to sources of incomes, I have no idea. I think he used to sell insurance, and that might be some source of income. Did he get paid for his appearances on those TV shows? Does he get royalties for it? He drives a shitty old mustang. So its not like he's spent a lot of money on a new ride.
