Twitch & Their Competitors / r/LivestreamFail / Live Streamer Community - Imitation of Hollywood

I gave up on reading every post after it was highlighted so maybe it was already pointed out, but way too many people are posting their opinion on Asmongold who only seem to know him from youtube clips. That isn't him or indicative of his overall "content" or even personality.

His real personality is an absolute, obnoxious piece of shit. He will spend 10 hours mumbling into the microphone vehemently hating on everything in a monotone, doomer pilled voice and getting non-entertainingly annoyed at the smallest of things. Then spend an hour reacting to content that he's clearly already watched which is then what gets uploaded to youtube.

The youtube clip shit is essentially an entirely fake persona. So when he's talking about "people don't like the real him" they aren't talking about a guy with some "based" opinions, they're talking about a guy who's just extremely negative and depressing to be around. It's the entire reason he's never had a real girlfriend in his life, only findomme whores.

Kind of OT but I feel like Pinksparkles was an actual real one, she even spent some time calling Asmon and teaching him how to cook after his mother passed even though they had been broken up for years.

I'm sure Asmon probably does realize what a good position he's in. If he wasnt the owner of OTK and Starforge he would have been outed a long time ago. He was so used to being able to pull up random chatters and ban them when they disagreed with him,. He couldn't do that with Hasan. I think he was fucked either way.

Late to the party but:

>Featured on Oct 15, 2024 at 7:59 AM: Asmongold has been banned from Twitch after stating that he "doesn't feel bad" for Palestinians if they're being genocided, because they are "terrible people" with an "inferior culture" who would genocide the queer folx if given the opportunity.

This happened live on stage at twitchcon.

These streamers made a racial tier list with "Arabs" at the top and "Loves Sabra" at the bottom. "Sabra" is a Hebrew term referring to Israeli born Jews. In the clip they essentially rate Ethan as a "Jew Lover" which, while accurate, is still an incomprehensibly retarded thing to do.

Oh yeah, this happened LIVE ON STAGE at twitchcon in front of a wall of sponsors.

I found a summary of the situation here.

*Edit - I just want to add "Loves Sabra" may actually be referring to the hummus brand or another twitch streamer but even if that's true what a fucked up and hilarious coincidence lol.

Twitch don't give a fuck.

Asmon called out Twitch bans months ago. "If you have the right politics, you can call for killing people, you can use racial slurs, you can do anything you want and Twitch will totally fucking ignore it"

I believe the only person that controls the featured posts is null
Any janny can Feature, but Null does it the most. I never caught a happening so new that I felt confident in doing so, but I had the option. Admins can peel back a Feature at their discretion, less than 5 have been ended early before their week length this year.

Pretty sure Null mentioned having to be careful with those summaries because they are a lot more likely to get him into legal trouble than posting in a thread
It's theoretically a different form of editorializing from just posting as a user, from a Section 230 perspective. It's not currently a problem, but could be in the future. Letting mods anonymously fluff the Feature message is currently a creative freedom until it ever(if ever) becomes an actual contested legal issue.

Twitch has been this way, since pretty much the start, they started much more leniently, but there were still always absurd bans given out completely inconsistently, they were actually one of the first, if not THE first platform to adopt a completely fucking ridiculous authoritarian way of running things, I remember this because back in the day, I couldn't comprehend why literally anyone in their right mind would use Twitch, and I didn't for a long time due to better places online existing, I actually hated Twitch and thought the people running it were some of the most unprofessional pussies on the planet, but by around 2018 Twitches ridiculous authoritarian model had become the norm. It use to be looked down upon and seen as unprofessional to ban a person from your site/platform because of personal grudges, but not these days, the idea of professionalism that people have nowadays is a company publicly displaying that they are conforming to the most hyper-mainstream ideas of what's acceptable.

I really hope this shameful display of cuckery ends Asmon's grifting career. At least parts of his fan base will spit on him from now on.

Twitch has banned Israeli IPs from making accounts:

first of all not claiming some anti-Semitism thing without evidence, wanted to bring this up because I have no idea what can explain this but you can't create new accounts with your email if you have israeli IP. I made a random new gmail account and when I tried making one this popped up.

(the date here are just random not my actual one)
but when I used a VPN just the shitty free one opera browser gives in this case it put my IP in sweden I did the same thing didn't change any of the details and it worked.

it also sent me the verification email with the code.
I then checked with all the other areas optioned there asia, and america and it worked but just with disabling the VPN and trying again to press the sign up button it made the error message pop up and it didn't jump to the code thing like it did using a VPN.
idk what could be the reason and I don't have a VPN subscription that I can test every country to check, it seems odd but could have a totally mundane explanation maybe because of local laws or idk google also couldn't find me any answer or even someone bringing up the problem of not being able to sign up using their email.
I then asked the guy who told me about it and he said that even using your phone number it doesn't let you sign up from your computer just error, unfortunately I had my old account already tied to my phone number and deactivating it didn't seem to let me use it again to create a new account so I can't personally confirm that part. but where you are able to sign up is only on their shitty mobile app.
So to recap I think twitch is not letting any new accounts from Israel to be created through the computer (I'll chalk up the app letting it go through to it literally never being worked upon lol).
I'm just a random guy with barely any understanding in software so maybe there is a totally legit reason for this maybe it's like that for other countries too but if not it could be actually antisemitism so I'd love for the wizards with more skill then me here to look further into it.
Thanks Daliban
Sorry for the post being a bit rambly it's 1AM

Everyone who attempts to sign up from an Israeli IP address gets this error:

someone emailed twitch support and got back this response:

ynet is already covering this (in hebrew):

Israelis have been reporting issues with this since May of this year with the same error code:

I tested it and confirmed it's real. It's not a VPN issue either because I made twitch accounts from Lebanon/Egypt/Jordan and they were fine.

There's only two websites that I know about that explicitly block Israeli IPs now, Gab and Twitch.
