I mean I'm pretty much preaching to the choir and repeating what is obvious, but there were so many clean layups that Ubislop just fumbled over and over and over again, even with decisions that usually denote DEI fuckery. They could've easily kept in the choice of playing as a guy or a girl by having a guy and girl ninja duo, they would've gotten away with it easily, hell there's a perfect example of that working well in a sadly long forgotten franchise - Tenchu. Rikimaru had slower movement speed but was stronger and better for combat encounters while Ayame was the faster and more agile of the two but was weaker. They tried to do something like that but of course they had to put in a nigger in there who doesn't do any sneaking assassin shit but whose entire gameplay involves brutalizing Asians and committing vandalism on their stores like it's 21st century New York.

Ubi flops all the time without it being DEI. Uplay was laughed at, their biggest games derided as updates alienate all but the most known streamers who make money off them, their gameplay trailers are misleading, and they are all uncreative sequels.

What makes a decent physically strong, clever, etc. female character distinct from a girlboss is that the former is competent and wins against competent opponents. The latter instead makes performative displays of superiority over her opponents, who suddenly inexplicably fail and make mistakes so long as it's the girlboss they're fighting against.

Absolutely spot-on, i've never ever been bothered by strong female characters before but now as soon as i see a female protagonist in a new movie/game/show i just sigh and skip it.
Without watching/playing it i already know exactly what the character is going to be like, and how it's going to portray straight white males.

I have normie friends who started noticing this trend a couple of years back, and now they can't stand this shit either.

Unless this guy has a secret KF account, I dunno who the fuck 'we' is supposed to be. We (the Farmers) are the only ones who have benefited from the continued existence of games like Unknown 9, Concord and Dustborn.

Also weird how all this supposed negativity didn't stop games like Tomb Raider's 2013 reboot from selling 14 million copies, despite all the controversy that surrounded it at the time. I'm sure being a fairly solid open-world Metroidvania had nothing to do with that game's success though.

It reminded of me of what Ross said in his Carnevil review that he doesn't like seeing/commiting violence against women in video games, saying that it triggers something primal in his brain, I didn't get what he meant by it at first but going through those death scenes, I'm starting to and I noticed that someone took the opposite approach.
