It makes me so happy that trans subreddits are finally being exposed. I'm glad they mentioned all the fanciful side effects; it's really easy for people to truly believe those things will happen if a few cherrypicked studies are linked and they've truly internalized the trans belief system.
Please God let r/egg_irl get exposed next.
TSMT, egg_irl is basically a sissy captions subreddit but as a "safe space" for teenagers. The jannies know exactly what they're doing. That subreddit was started by 4chan /d/egenerates who wanted to live out their trap harem and TF fantasies IRL. It's insane how the fetish groups that spawned idiotic memes like "swallow semen to trapmaxx" have managed to get so much mainstream establishment and government protection, and it's scary how many kids get into this stuff. Most of the kids who troon out because of Reddit and egg_irl had no problems with their gender before they found LGBT stuff; it's convincing kids to ruin their lives and become prison gay basement dwellers with no prospects.
nah, they're not misinformed. the vast majority of them know that this is the incorrect way to handle it. a lot of them are kids who have been told no by doctors and parents, and are choosing to do it anyway, or retarded troons who think it's gonna fix all their woes and they'll be a super cute anime girl, the doctors are just telling them what they do because they're bigoted transphobes.
Most of these kids are misinformed because they don't understand the side effects. If they were informed, they would know that estrogen is pointless because it just causes the body to make more testosterone (making them look even more masculine), and they would know that testosterone is literal poison on the female body.
They truly believe that HRT is harmless hormone Lego and that bigoted doctors and parents are the only thing standing in the way of their happiness and future. I have no sympathy for the adult troons, though; they knowingly lie about everything to groom more kids. See below:
That's one of the most insidious things about r/TransDIY; the troons there often shit-talk medical professionals and claim that "trans elders" know far more about transitioning, There are a lot of impressionable young people being convinced by pRedditors to take DIY HRT and disregard well-meaning recommendations from their actual doctors.
When your community figureheads are literally telling you to shut up and stop asking so many questions, it’s time to find a new community.
Many don't find new communities, though. This is why it's a cult.
You guys, shit like this has been around since the late 90s with Yahoo Groups. I know everyone thinks they scored a big one, but it's only receiving press coverage due to elections.
People think this all started because of Tumblr, but it didn't. Tumblr is just where it moved (because Tumblr was a big spot for niche fetishists from Livejournal and blogs), and went mainstream because of early 2010s' social zeitgeist. In the 2000s, sites like Susan's Place and FTM Geocities had lists of doctors that handed out hormones without gatekeeping (much like today), and everyone was given a script so that they could get their hormones with as little gatekeeping as possible. According to
@Null, "trapmaxxing" grooming was a thing on 4chan in the 2000s.
