Dowdy truly cared about his soldiers and did not want casualties. For that, he had the respect of the men under his command. Mattis, on the other hand, was a commander who understood that you will always have casualties, and sometimes you have to take it on the chin if that means achieving a much more important objective.

The orders from on high were to get to Baghdad and stack bodies as quickly as possible. Dowdy did not follow orders and that was why he was relieved.

I actually support the laws in question as a concept, basically requiring ID to access the sites. The problem is most of the states don't have any good rule in place to help with the verification

The way I'd want it to be handled would be for IDs to have both a card number and security pin, and you would give the sites the ID# and pin and they'd just get a pass/fail without getting any info about you from a centralized or state level database. Have it work for alcohol, tobacco, Sudafed, porn, etc

I feel like that would be the most secure way to get kids off those sites, they couldn't just 'borrow' a parent's ID and use that to verify themselves, and the states get their age verification.

Ultimately I feel like Discord is a much bigger problem when it comes to minors and porn but I feel like at least a little bit of friction on
the most well known sites would be good, for whatever little benefit there is

There's a lot of retarded propositions on the ballots here. There's KK, which would put a huge tax on guns an ammunition, there's 79 which will probably pass and force taxpayers to subsidize baby murder up to birth, there's 127 like you said, there's 131 which will give us top-4 RCV along with the shitty "non-partisan™" jungle primaries, and at least a few measures that are naked attempts to steal more of our tax money by keeping the TABOR refunds they owe us.
